Samuel Martin Promoted to Deputy Chief
LOS SANTOS, SA —
On the 18th of May, 2026, the Los Santos Police Department made a significant adjustment to one of its senior command officers, marking a momentous day and celebrating the promotion and addition to the upper-leadership of the Department.
Samuel Martin was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief and assigned as the Commanding Officer, General Operations Bureau. Deputy Chief Martin, in this position, is assigned to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Department's patrol operations, which includes the majority of the personnel and operations of the entire Department, as patrol operations make up a significant percentage of a police officer's duties, and are the area in which the majority of officers are assigned.
Deputy Chief Martin comes from a background of specialized duties, having served in various assignments within the Detective Bureau, most notably his tenure as the Commanding Officer, Gang and Narcotics Division. It is in these roles where Deputy Chief Martin has continuously shown his care for not only the provision of quality service, but also the value that he places in both his peers and subordinates.
Martin is a long-term, decorated veteran officer of the Los Santos Police Department, having started his career as a Los Santos Police Officer following his graduation from the Los Santos Police Academy on November 7, 2019. It is here that Martin was enrolled in the Department's field training program, designed to prepare prospective officers for the strenuous day-to-day duties of an officer. He successfully completed and graduated from the program on December 4, 2019, marking the start of his career as a patrol officer at the rank of Police Officer I in the operations bureau, the very bureau he would eventually go on to lead.
In early 2020, Martin progressed to Police Officer II before an eventual brief two-month stint away from the Department. He returned on March 7, 2020, and proved himself as reliable, progressing to Police Officer III on May 11, 2020, a role that denoted his seniority as a patrol officer. It is here that Martin began to make his future path clear by specializing and enrolling in the detective training program, a program which he graduated from and saw promotion to Detective I on July 14, 2020.
The next years of Martin's career were spent within the Detective Bureau, with his dedication to the Gang and Narcotics Division, which he first joined as a gang detective, but quickly progressed through, with an appointment to lead the Department's Gang Field Unit, a sub-unit of the gang division, with uniformed gang officers. He continued to advance through the ranks and internal positions, proving himself time and time again, eventually acquiring the rank of Captain, as the Commanding Officer, Gang and Narcotics Division. Prior to his appointment within the Operations Bureau, Martin was promoted to Police Commander due to his efforts within the Gang and Narcotics Division and the Detective Bureau as a whole.
On March 24, 2026, Martin was reassigned as the Acting Commanding Officer, General Operations Bureau. This assignment was made permanent following a successful completion of his probation phase, seeing him formalized as the Commanding Officer, and promoted to Deputy Chief.
While he's not working, the otherwise outspoken Martin enjoys life as a rather private person, with a soft spot for cats, owning a cat named Gizmo whom he loves dearly, and an affinity for German-made cars, with a specific love of Obey cars. He has a strong bond with his brother, who lives out of state; they enjoy bridge spotting together and traveling around the world to take photos of renowned bridges considered to be marvels of engineering. Whispers around the locker rooms claim that Martin and his family are descendants of the then-famous Skull Gang Pirates, dating back far enough to have had a running rivalry with Blackbeard and his crew.
