SAN ANDREAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
Public Relations Division
Bolingbroke Penitentiary, Los Santos County | 28th of May, 2026
Attempted Prison Break; Awards Issued
The San Andreas Department of Corrections is no stranger to the dangerous work involved in holding the state's dangerous inmates. On the 16th May 2026, the SADOC underwent an operation to hold dangerous inmates that were brought in from an out-of-state facility and housed within our walls. During the night of the 16th of May, the group known as Bratva infiltrated the Department of Corrections, holding several officers hostage whilst also injuring a few.
The quick reaction of our remaining officers inside the prison along with the response from the Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos Sheriff Department and immediate negotiation's started by Captain II Alex Sorvanis of LSPD allowed for the injured correctional officers to be brought out and treated before immediate transport to Pillbox Hospital. The three injured officers were declared fit to return to work, and with the support of SADOC, the officers returned to their duties.
Captain Jamie Lockwood took charge from the LSPD/LSSD side and allowed for clear communications to be established between the SADOC's CERT and Law Enforcement's respective SWAT teams. Without the leadership, support and professionalism of Captain I Lockwood, communications, negotiations, and tactical discussions between all parties would not have been possible. Both Captains embodied the LSPD's principles with courtesy, professionalism, and, most of all, respect. With this, the San Andreas Department of Corrections, through the Office of the Warden would like to award both Captains with the Warden's Exemplary Service Award.

We would like to recognize all our officers with the Bleeding Heart ribbon. This ribbon is awarded to an individual who has shown great performance under high stress. Unfortunately, things do not always go well for the Department, as shown in the sacrifice made by one of our own officers, Sergeant John Doe. Whilst actively providing suppressive fire from his position, the sergeant was ambushed by members of Bratva and, unfortunately, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The SADOC remains strong and resilient despite the unnecessary attack and loss of life in this attempted prison break. We are not just a department of Correctional Officers; here, we see each and every member as family, and we treat each other as we would treat our own. We are offering our full support to those injured or who are affected by the actions of this single group.

Warden Marc Ericsson, Warden, San Andreas State Prison wrote:I was one of the DOC officers that were injured during that situation, and I’ll be honest with you, if it wasn't for Captain Sorvanis and his negotiations, I wouldn’t be here to give him and Captain Lockwood this award. Both of their work ensured that every hostage got out safely and that every intruder was apprehended in the end. That kind of dedication deserves to be recognized at the highest level, and that is exactly what the Warden's Exemplary Service Award represents.

Chief Deputy Warden Jimmithy Jemima, Executive Director, Office of Custody Operations wrote:I am proud to see the awardance of the Warden's Exemplary Service Award to two of the Los Santos Police Department's finest officers. The experience shown on the 16th of May, 2026 by Captain Alex Sorvanis and Captain Jamie Lockwood was paramount to the secure release, rescue and saving of multiple officers of the San Andreas Department of Corrections.

I am also very saddened to have witnessed the murder and execution of one of my Sergeants during the end exchange of the scene, who gave his life to this department and who was respected and remembered in a private funeral held shortly after his death, my condolences go out to all of his family and friends who are affected by his passing.
Captain Sorvanis lead the LSPD's Special Weapons And Tactics response to an emergency call from the SADOC in the late hours of the 16th of May, due to the amount of officers which this cowardly criminal organisation decided to shoot and injure time was of the essence and with no immediate negotiator from the SADOC available, Captain Sorvanis took the responsibility of establishing contact with the hostage takers which ultimately lead to a safe release of the hostages who were treated by Los Santos Emergency Medical Services EMTs.
Captain Jamie Lockwood commanded the tactical scene from a general operations angle, directing and ordering units of both the LSPD and the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department to appropriate angles and strategic positions to best have coverage on the location of the hostage takers, Captain Lockwood furthermore liaised with the LSEMS and ensured that the instructions relayed by Captain Sorvanis were actioned appropriately by the officers and deputies in attendance.
Commanding the SADOC's response to these scary and real hostile situations is a task and duty which I have unfortunately had to perform too many times over my multiple years of service here at the SADOC, but with the limited specialised units we had at our disposal at the time, I am personally very grateful and appreciative of our relationship with our sister law enforcement departments for their around-the-clock responses to the sensitive and hostile calls for assistance which occur from time-to-time at the State Prison.
All of the other responding units also have my deepest gratitude for their assistance in this situation, and I want to further commend all who responded, whether it be the medics, officers, deputies, government security agents or the Governor herself, every single one of them contributed to the safe release and recovery of the SADOC's own, the justice which was brought upon the criminals which all ties together the bond between all of our departments, which will never break.
