Los Santos: With the year 2025 coming to a close, the State of San Andreas is rapidly approaching New Year's Eve with its annual celebrations taking place across the City, and likely on the Del Perro Pier. The Los Santos Police Department wishes to remind the public to plan appropriately, ensuring that, on top of a great evening ringing in the new year, they primarily have safe and responsible choices of transportation to get home.
With a plethora of parties on the horizon, citizens should ensure that they have plans in place to get home safely by the end of the night, whether that is by checking the availability of a taxi or ride service ahead of time, or by choosing a designated driver within a friend group. Knowing that a ride is lined up with a safe way home makes it easier to enjoy the night responsibly. Safe ride options are a designated driver that steers clear of alcohol for the evening, ride services, and taxis, predominantly the Downtown Cab Company.
Long celebrations may cause fatigue and tire people out, which, combined with a lack of visibility during late nights, the blinding snow, and difficult driving conditions, can create an unsafe traffic environment tonight. If you do not feel fit to drive, do not get into the driver's seat of a vehicle, and do not get into a vehicle with a driver who may be under the influence. A little planning has the chance to prevent a bad decision or situation, and one responsible choice can make all the difference.
As citizens, everyone shares the responsibility to look out for each other, so if you see something that stands out to you, please take a moment to help friends or others to make safe decisions before heading home, and check in with one another to make sure that unsafe situations do not arise.
