What MRD Is
The Media Relations Division is the bridge between the LSPD and the community. MRD is structured into three sections:
- Media Relations Section (MRS): Drafts news releases and advisories, ensuring transparency in Department updates.
- Community Affairs Section (CAS): Hosts and coordinates events, promoting outreach and community engagement.
- Public Information Section (PIS): Handles public inquiries on behalf of the Department.
Together, these sections ensure the Department is accessible, accountable, and connected to the people of Los Santos.
How LSPD Works With Media

The Media Relations Division works closely with reporters and news agencies to provide accurate information, answer inquiries, and maintain open lines of communication on behalf of the Department. The press pass has allowed me to cover things that I usually would not through regular means. It allows me to showcase the LSPD and its officers in ways the public has never seen before. I've been able to get footage of high-intensity pursuits, on-scene interviews, and just generally seeing the way in which LSPD officers go about their daily work. The press pass system has opened up avenues for me to show the members of the public what goes on behind the scenes, report with transparency and accuracy, and give first-hand insight. It's not just about accountability, but building community trust through informed coverage.
Officer-in-Charge Ally Jean, Community Affairs Section wrote:
Cobb has been an incredible partner in this new approach to how the LSPD works alongside the media in the state. The city trusts Cobb to be transparent and fair in in his coverage of news, it's why he made the perfect partner for this project. We are excited to give the public an inside look at who we are and what we do to help protect and serve the city. It's an opportunity to tell our story, as told by a trusted source. We’re excited to continue this project and look forward to advancing transparency within the LSPD.
