Los Santos: After each month, supervisory personnel of the Los Santos Police Department conduct a thorough review of officer statistics within their divisions and nominate those who have shown significant dedication to the Department based on statistics such as duty hours, individual performances within divisions, administrative efforts, and above all, their embodiment of the values that the Department holds dear.

The title of "Officer of the Month" is distinguished and is awarded to officers who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, outstanding performance, and unrivaled professionalism in the line of duty, and who through their steadfast commitment to the communities and the pursuit of justice, embody the very essence of the core values of the Department, where excellence is not just another word, but the backbone on which our law enforcement philosophy is built.

This month, it is with great honor that we shine a light on, commend, and salute Police Officer III+1 Leo Larson for his efforts, dedication, and achievements. Officer Larson has been voted Officer of the Month for May 2025.

Officer Larson was nominated by Lieutenant I Joseph Sanchez, who serves as his Commanding Officer within the Rockford Hills Patrol Division. Lieutenant Sanchez had the following to say about Officer Larson:

Lieutenant I Joseph Sanchez, Commanding Officer, Rockford Hills Patrol Division wrote: Since his return to the Department, Officer Leo Larson has shown an exceptional work ethic and his performance has been exemplary. Officer Larson has logged over eighty hours and completed 231 paperwork reports during the month of May, while also giving great effort to his leadership role in the Traffic Enforcement Division and training Cadets. Because of his consistency, reliability, and outstanding presence in the field, we feel that Officer Larson has certainly earned Rockford's nomination for May.

Officer Larson initially graduated from the Los Santos Police Academy on July 14th, 2020, after graduating from the Los Santos Police Academy and enrolling in the Field Training Program. Leo passed their field training and saw a promotion to Police Officer I at the end of September 2020.

Over the course of their career, Leo has left and reinstated with the department seven times, most recently returning in February 2025 as a Police Officer III. A significant portion of Leo’s service has been devoted to the Field Training Division, where they have played a key role in mentoring numerous Cadets through their training.

On May 15th of this year, Leo was promoted to Police Officer III+1 and assumed a senior role within the Traffic Enforcement Division. Additionally, on June 1st, they were accepted into the Supervisor Training Program, marking another step forward in their journey toward becoming a Police Sergeant for the Rockford Hills Patrol Division.

Today, Officer Larson serves as a Patrol Supervisor assigned to the Rockford Hills Patrol Division as they undergo their supervisor training. They also hold secondary assignments as a Traffic Coordinator for the Traffic Enforcement Division, a Senior Pilot for the Air Support Division, and continue to be a dedicated Field Training Officer for the Field Training Division.

The Department finds it important to acknowledge the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of our officers amidst their daily challenges and responsibilities.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Leo Larson on this prestigious award. We look forward to his continued success with the Los Santos Police Department.
