- Reflections and the Road Ahead: A Continued Commitment to Justice
On Sunday, May 11, we held an Open Court Session, marking a significant step toward improving judicial efficiency and transparency. These sessions are intended explicitly for active bench trials in which the prosecution has already submitted a motion for discovery, with the primary goal of accelerating court proceedings and minimising delays for all parties involved. The event was a notable success, receiving positive feedback from participants and observers alike.

Prosecution Employee of the Month

Prosecution Employee of the Month
- For the month of May, Attorney General Terence Williams would like to recognize Adithya Ramesh as the Prosecution Divisions Employee of the Month.

Junior Prosecutor Adithya Ramesh
Attorney General Terence Williams wrote:"This past month has been a demanding one, and Junior Prosecutor Adithya Ramesh has certainly met those demands. Despite the hectic nature of the work as a civil servant, Junior Prosecutor Ramesh has worked through the chaos that is litigation, coordinating with law enforcement, processing evidence, and filing important motions. Junior Prosecutor Ramesh, despite only having a few months behind them as a prosecutor, have tackled and completed tasks beyond their level, and they are expected to continue to do nothing but rise to the occasion."
Public Defense Employee of the Month

Public Defense Employee of the Month
- For the month of May, Chief Daniel Carmello would like to recognize Piper Johnson as the Public Defense Divisions Employee of the Month.

Lead Attorney Piper Johnson
Chief Public Defender Daniel Carmello wrote: " I want to give Lead Attorney Piper Johnson the employee of the month for all the work she does. It is greatly appreciated, and she has stepped up to take work that I have been unable to deal with recently. She has stuck with this division through tough times and is a great worker, friend, and attorney all around. She has recently taken on some larger responsibilities, and she has been doing great in her position. She is an amazing asset to the defense division, and we are very thankful to have her in the branch and this division."
Closing Message
- "As we close out May, we want to thank the citizens of San Andreas, our fellow law enforcement personnel, and private law firms for their continued engagement with the court system. These past couple of months, the San Andreas Judicial Branch implemented a major structural change: all trials have now transitioned to bench trials. This decision was made to improve the efficiency and consistency of court proceedings across the state.

Branch Administrator Hope Kant
We understand that scheduling a trial can sometimes feel overwhelming for defendants, and we want to acknowledge the challenge this can present. That said, we only ask that individuals make a sincere effort to schedule their case. Our judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys are working diligently to move cases forward, and we are committed to granting additional time as needed. However, in return, we ask for engagement from those involved. A simple outreach, response, or scheduling request goes a long way in showing that you're making an effort, and we’ll meet you there!
The judiciary remains dedicated to fair, timely justice for all. Your cooperation helps us deliver on that promise. Thank you all for your patience and working with us as we move through these cases."
