Type of Representation (Pick one): Self-Representation

Charging Department: LSPD
Image
Date & Time of Incident(s): 26/AUG/2024 20:00
Charge(s):
  • Attempted Murder of a Gov Employee
  • Evading an Officer
  • Resisting Arrest
Narrative:
Officer Lue Washington, badge number 28519, was handing items back from my personal locker at the foyer of DOC. After I had collected the items I began to leave when he said that he accidentally gave me somebody else's. I wanted to raise a point of this because he mishandled someone else's property, giving it to someone else which is sloppy police work and I wanted to make a point of it, as I was speaking to him he declared that if I didn't hand over the items I would be detained and he would remove them from me, it was at this point that the other recently released person swung and hit me with his fist shouting for his stuff. Due to the sudden impact I wanted to get away from the situation so I ran toward the city. And kept running. It was on the highway that I was tazed, by Officer Washington where he called me "you're fucking retarded, I hope you know you're fucking retarded, I hope you know that!". It was at this point that my self-defense kicked in and with a knife, I struck him two times in the vest and then was tazed by other officers, I was then not read my rights by anyone, and arrested. Taken back to DOC.

At no point was I arrested, or was attempted to be arrested until the moment the separate officer tazed me and placed me in custody, which I showed 0 resistance.
I was never in a vehicle of any form, so him adding VF01 - Evading an Officer had no context and brings in to question the integrity of this officers police work.
And finally, and no point was I intending or displayed intent to take the officers life, he had shown nothing but aggression in this tone, words and actions to the point where I was in fear of him. I sincerely believe that if other officers did not attend the scene when they did he would have taken my own life, and fabricated a story to match.

I hope he has his PD bodycam, as this incident was outrageous and displays exactly why there is a severe mis-trust between the people and LSPD.

I, Isabella Cruz, hereby affirm that all information provided above is true and correct to the best of my knowledge, and understand that knowingly providing false information could result in additional charges and/or fines. • I was in the DOC lobby, giving back legal items to people who were requesting them. I was giving items to Cruz when I realized I gave her an item that didn't belong to her. I asked for it back and she said "No, Its your fault you gave it to me" - I then gave her a lawful order to give it to me or Id detain her and get it off her regardless. She then took off on foot, she evaded from me down the road from DOC for several minutes before she started stabbing me. Lieutenant Steel got on scene quickly and helped me.

    Case Information
    • Incident Date: 26/AUG/2024
    Witness Information
    • Name: Lue Washington
      Date of Birth: 15/OCT/1996
      Phone Number: 571-3201
Occupation: Police Officer II, Los Santos Police Department
    Witness Statement
    • As I was leaving DOC - Miss Cruz and another gentleman approached me in the lobby and asked If I could assist in releasing evidence. I of course had no issue doing so. After collecting both individuals items, I began to pass Cruz her items. As soon as I finished I realized I gave her two items belonging to the other individual. I told her immediately of my mistake and asked if she could give the items to the other gentleman. She simply ignored me and walked away. I met her outside of the DOC lobby, and gave her a lawful order to give the items back over, to which she replied "Why? It was your fault you gave them to me" My patience at this point was running understandably thin because as you see the bodycam footage I was very patient and kind with Miss Cruz. She continued to decline at which point I was being surrounded by two other individuals who were instigating the situation. To this moment, Miss Cruz begins to run on foot away from the lobby of the DOC out towards the parking lot. I begin chase and order her to stop. She continues to run on foot for several minutes down the highway, to which point, additional units arrived to assist, before she was placed in cuff's, she withdrew a switchblade and began stabbing me for no reason. She decided to run away and stab me, over the fact that I accidentally gave her a necklace and a GPS.
    Witness Affirmation
    • I, Lue Washington, affirm that the above statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief. I affirm that this statement has been made voluntarily, made without promise of reward, and made not under threat, force, or coercion. ((I affirm that all information submitted has been obtained via In-Character means.))

      Signed,

Court Notice

"EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW"

  • All involved parties,

Consistent with the previous court notice, the Court will now invite the defense to file any motions they have in response to the State’s discovery. Given the Attorney General has just now added to this case, the Court will now allow 72 hours for any additional motions to be filed from either side. If no motions are filed, we will then begin attempting to schedule this for a trial.

ISSUANCE OF VERDICT

IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF SAN ANDREAS

State of San Andreas v. Isabella Cruz
#25-CM-0021

The above case was resolved on the 3rd day of May, 2025.

A Plea Agreement was filed by the Prosecution and accepted by the court. Within the agreement, the defendant pled guilty to the charge(s) of Attempted SF02 - Murder of a Government Employee, and GM04 - Resisting Arrest.

It is with the above considerations that I issue the following verdict:
  • On the count of Attempted SF02 - Murder of a Government Employee, I find the defendant, Isabella Cruz, guilty.
  • On the count of GM04 - Resisting Arrest, I find the defendant, Isabella Cruz, guilty.

The Defendant should seek the assistance of a judge to have their record modified to reflect this verdict, and the removal of the charge(s) previously faced.
