Chief's Message - May 2025

Los Santos: As the Los Santos Police Department concludes the month of April, Chief Elena Flores extends a message of reflection and addresses the accomplishments, challenges, and future endeavors of the Department.

Chief Elena Flores wrote: As we leave behind April in favor of May and its warmer temperatures, we are slowly but surely heading towards summer, enjoying the longer days and warmer weather. With warmer temperatures comes the caution to ensure you keep yourself properly hydrated, in the shade, and generally safe and well.

In the middle of the month, we announced our plans to push forward a renovation project to the Mission Row Station. While the station in itself is a landmark of sorts, it is the belief that a renovation will prolong the long-term viability of the station. Though history is of significant importance, the safety of the officers working the station and the civilians visiting for offered services is a higher priority. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an estimated date when the renovations may be concluded. A separate press release will be published once they are.

Another noteworthy occurrence during the month was the issuance of a Police Life Saving Medal to Police Officer III Percy Heines on April 14th. The medal was bestowed on Officer Heines by Captain Breacher for Percy's heroic actions which saw him rescuing and bringing to safety a total of five officers from a high-risk, life-threatening situation.

Beyond that, to ground us back in standard operations, the Traffic Enforcement Division assisted the Atomic Drift Team with their event, the "Atomic Drift Challenge: Tandem Challenge", where our traffic officers set up safety zones to allow drifters uninterrupted enjoyment of the event.

On a final note, I wish to express once more my gratitude for the unwavering dedication and commitment of our officers, the deputies of the Sheriff's Department, all government workers, and every citizen who has contributed to making the City of Los Santos a better, safer place.

The Los Santos Police Department is committed to ensuring and protecting the safety and security of citizens and tourists of Los Santos to the highest standards of law enforcement. We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our ranks. If you are inspired to make a difference in your community, consider a career with LSPD. The LSPD is hiring for the early morning and late night shifts and can be applied to through the online recruitment portal or by using our online application form.
