1. CONTACT INFORMATION
  • Full Name: Diana Butler
    Phone Number: You Know
    E-Mail Address: You Know
    Position in Agency: N/A
2. REQUEST INFORMATION
  • Detailed information of your request:
    • Just wondering, as per your [Information] Police Officer Job Listing in "REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS"
" Applicants must not have been convicted of a serious crime, for which the punishment would have been imprisonment in the state prison. The Los Santos Police Department reserves the right to disqualify any applicant from the recruitment process for criminal charges that have not resulted in imprisonment in the state prison, along with excessive traffic infractions and other citations. In addition, applicants must be in good standing with no affiliations to (serious) criminal activity."

This is in direct opposition to multiple of your officers such as Mike Luigi who was found guilty of 3x GM11 - Predatory Lending and has since been promoted to deputy chief and commanding officer of the 'Professional Standards Bureau'
Or Samuel Martin, who plead guilty to GM13 - Criminal Threats, WM01 - Unlawful Brandishing of a Firearm or Weapon and GM25 - Possession/Unlawful use of Government Equipment who once again has been promoted to Deputy Chief.

Are you going to do anything about these aside from petty suspensions, and fire criminals running our police department. Or will you actually adapt your job listing requirements to address this hypocrisy.

    Diana Butler,

Thank you for your inquiry and we appreciate you taking the time to query this.

We take the conduct of all our employees extremely seriously and in such situations, we always conduct a through and fair review of situations such as these, to arrive at a decision that not only meets our internal standards but the standards that we are held to by Legal Services and the San Andreas State Government.

In such cases, the determination was clear, that it did not meet the threshold to take stronger disciplinary action than was taken at the time. In the cases where individuals have gone over what we would consider an acceptable threshold, employees have had in the past and will continue to have their employment with the Los Santos Police Department terminated.

The Los Santos Police Department does not condone any breach of the law, large or small, but we do recognise and are firm believer that the punishment should fit the crime. In incidents such as this, we applied what we feel was appropriate and this was supported by implication, by the San Andreas State Government.

Thank you once again for your inquiry.

  • Respectfully,
    Assistant Chief Dezzy Bala
    Los Santos Police Department

Nothing burger of a reply aside, do you not put your trust into the judicial branch and acknowledge their legal judgement? Does state law not trump whatever internal guidelines you set? It feels hypocritical to have Mike Luigi has head of your Bureau for 'Professional Standards' considering his criminal activity.

    Diana Butler,

This is not an appropriate platform to debate the judgement of the San Andreas Judicial Branch and the Los Santos Police Department are servants of the Law. Deputy Chief Luigi, then a Police Commander, was found guilty on three counts of Predatory Lending and having reviewed that decision internally, the decision was made to suspend Deputy Chief Luigi for 48 hours as a result.

We took into account the nature of the charges, the amount of time the trial took to get to a verdict and also, Deputy Chief Luigi's record as a public servant when arriving at this conclusion. Deputy Chief Luigi has our full trust and support, as the Commanding Officer of the Professional Standards Bureau.

We will be making no further comment on this matter, but we thank you once again for your inquiry. If you wish to read our press release on the matter, I have included a link for your convenience.

  • Sincerely,
    Assistant Chief Dezzy Bala
