Pride Month - LGBTQIA+ Health

LSEMS would like to wish our community a Happy Pride!

Pride Month is a annual celebration that commemorates a turning point for the rights movement for the LGBTQIA+ community that started in the late 1960s. This time serves as a celebration honoring the impact this community has had, past and present, while also acknowledging the disparities and prejudice these individuals continue to face today. As a medical organization, we strive to fight against healthcare related disparities, including those faced by LGBTQIA+ patients.

In the field, our medics work to ensure all patients are treated with dignity and respect, providing quality and timely care during emergencies. Within Advanced Medicine Unit (AMU), we offer an array of services and procedures to the citizens of San Andreas. We offer consultations on procedures such as, but not limited to, breast augmentation, Reception of Oocytes from Partner (ROPA), and other areas of family planning. AMU also works closely with our Crisis Response Unit (CRU) Team to assist and facilitate the means of gender-affirming care for those who are experiencing Gender Dysphoria.

Providing good medical care means providing good medical care for all. Regardless of the time of year, LSEMS is here to support the LGBTQIA+ community and any of their medical needs. If you would like to schedule a medical appointment, you can do so here for any physical and/or mental health related concerns.

Here at LSEMS, our main goal is to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives in or visits our community. Joining our team is a great way to start and maintain a stable career, improve life skills, and most importantly, save others. There is a wide range of career opportunities to suit your interests and aspirations within our department. Click here to apply now!
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
  • Applicants must possess a full driver's license issued by the Los Santos DMV. A trucker's license is required if the applicant wishes to join the Fire & Rescue Division. We typically prefer applicants with no major traffic or driving offenses.
  • The LSEMS requires that applicants not have any history of certain mental conditions that could inhibit performance on duty and cause further issues in the department. Exceptions can be made.
  • Applicants are required to be physically fit to perform the day-to-day duties of an EMT (lifting patients, scaling difficult terrain, etc.). Applicants may be subjected to a physical examination by a member of the AMU division.

(( OUT OF CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS ))
(( The LSEMS has several Out-of-Character requirements that must be met on top of our In-Character requirements.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Special consideration for players who are able to show maturity may apply.
  • You should ideally have a working microphone to be used in-game and on TeamSpeak 3 as Eclipse Roleplay is a primarily VOIP server. This is however not eliminatory by any means, but it does mandate that your typing speed and grammar can keep up.
    • This does not mean that text role-play is not important. Your ability to perform character actions and describe environmental RP (/me & /do) will be checked during the recruitment process, should you pass the application stage.
  • You are permitted to use text RP during your employment but must use VOIP when using (J)TAC
  • You must be able to communicate fluently in the English language, which includes grammar and spelling.
  • You must have TeamSpeak 3 and Discord installed.
  • You must be able to spend at least Five hours weekly on your LSEMS character. This requirement can be temporarily exempted through a Leave of Absence or Reduction of Hours.
  • Your Admin Record has been clean for at least 30 days from the filing date.
    • This means that you haven't had any punishments, including being unbanned within a thirty-day period and you are in good standing with the Eclipse community. Depending on the severity of the punishment, we reserve the right to deny your application based on your Admin Record, even after the thirty-day minimum. All cases are reviewed individually.
  • The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services faction reserves the right to deny applicants that have previously been removed from another faction for Out of Character reasons, such as but not limited to, poor roleplay, poor Out of Character conduct, and toxicity. Our faction strives for a friendly and healthy environment, and applicants need to prove that they are capable of contributing to one.
  • You must not use AI text generators to compose answers in your application as doing so shows a lack of effort. Detecting the use of these generators is grounds for denying your application.
  • The Applicants agree to roleplay a realistic medical care provider character with consistent character development by applying to the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services faction. ))

Question:
What should you do right after experiencing a mild burn?
  1. Run the area under cool (not cold) water for 10-20 minutes or until pain eases
  2. Apply ice over the area for 10-20 minutes or until pain eases
  3. Apply an adhesive bandage over the area
Answer
a. Run the area under cool (not cold) water for 10-20 minutes or until pain eases
After a mild burn, running the area under cool water can help reduce the heat and damage to the area.

Do not use ice, as the extreme cold can further injure the tissue! If you're unable to run the area under water, use a cool, clean wet cloth and apply that over the area instead.

If you decide to cover the area afterward, make sure to use sterile non-stick gauze and loosely wrap it over the burn.

Message From the Chief of EMS
Image
To the members of LSEMS and to the city we serve -

Thank you. Truly.

This department has been through a lot. And yet, here you are showing up, caring deeply, and doing the hard, quiet work of rebuilding something worth believing in. I see it every day and I don’t take it for granted.

Stepping into this role, I didn’t come to erase the past. I came to help us move forward with more clarity, more compassion, and more trust in each other. It’s not easy work but it’s honest, it’s ours, and I am endlessly proud of the team that has rallied not behind me but beside me.

To every staff member who stayed, to every new face who chose to join us, to every familiar face who returned, and to the city that keeps placing its trust in our care: I appreciate you. We’re growing into something stronger. Together.
