Los Santos Emergency Medical Services PSA: Code 1 Drill | Saturday 16th of July 2022 Monday, July 18th, 2022 "One Team, One Mission, Saving Lives" |
Saturday 16th of July 2022 at 7:02 PM a Code 1 alarm was sent over the external department radio from a bypassing LSEMS unit that witnessed a bigger explosion take place at the Alta Construction Site. First responders from LSPD, LSSD, LSEMS, SADOC & SAGOV responded to the panic alarm and within minutes, the area was filled with units from all departments, including airships. Quickly the injured on scene were located and the threat was found and the work neutralizing it began.
Luckly it was just a drill! Chief Tenbe from the LSEMS and Sergeant Schill from the LSPD sat down together in the middle of May 2022 with a shared goal of creating a simulation of a disaster where all first responders would receive fundamental training in a safe environment. Different government leaders were contacted and the first meeting was held at the beginning of June followed by scheduled meetings and discussions close upon the alarm went off.
The project was quickly marked as confidential, meaning no other than the 25 members across all departments invited were given the details about the drill and when it took place. The State Government assisted the planning by permitting stores and banks to be closed during this event to ensure an immersive response from the employees involved. Weazel News was invited a few days prior to allow the practice of alerts and communication between the citizens of San Andreas, Weazel News, and different government departments.
Because of the surprise element added to the simulation, all departments involved received important feedback on how to create and improve internal protocols and external services that will better assure the safety of all personnel and citizens during bigger situations like the one simulated.
Internally, employees of the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services focused on fire safety and advanced patient treatment of the injured on the scene. They received important training on how to respond, communicate and present themselves in larger-scaled scenes. The information the LSEMS Leadership team gathered during this simulation will be used to create a program that better prepares the LSEMS for the future.
Message from Commissioner Lewis Langley
I'm very happy with the way all organizations worked together in what they believed was truly a vast, life-or-death scenario.
I'm also very thankful and appreciative of everyone who works on the front line in whatever capacity, risking their lives on a day-to-day basis. They showed exceptional bravery, teamwork, and communication not just amongst their immediate colleagues, but the wider teams.
Everyone worked very well together!
Kind Regards,
Samantha Tenbe
