Letter From the Governor

Emily Whitehorse wrote:As we approach the end of August, the summer is winding down as we enter the beginnings of fall. This month was another strong one for the State Government, with all of our bureaus contributing internally to improve the services we provide the public. We also saw two major events this month, widening our range of public interactions with our officials across the bureaus. Looking ahead in September, I hope to announce more changes that will better serve our community.
The first major event we had this month was the SASG Job Fair at LSIA. During the event, members of the public got to meet with all our command, participate in events, and even see a stellar airshow by the San Andreas Aviation Administration. The event was such a success, we saw over 14 interested people for a walk in interview, with a number of them progressing to the Job Offer phase. This event would not have been possible without the effort of Public Relations Director Dan Endo, who upon receiving the task, went to immediate work to execute and plan with all of our directors. I also wish to thank the Administration Bureau for processing the higher than expected volume of interested applicants withing such a short time-span.
This month also saw the conclusion of the SASG Grand Prix, a premier F1 event that saw a number of internal and external organizations come together to pull off one of the best recurring events this state has seen. Each time I arrived, I was thoroughly impressed by the precision of the event, and how fun this event was for all the participants. I want to thank Director Sanchez and Deputy Director Thorpe for the effort that went in organizing the event and hope to bring news of a possible Season 2 to everyone soon.
On a more somber note, the 27th of August has come and reminded us of the horrific Palmer Taylor bombing incident that occurred in 2022. During the incident, a group of individuals successfully bombed the main generation unit of the power station, resulting in a blackout that lasted several days and left many power station employees wounded. This blackout severely disrupted hospital operations, and lead to the failure of critical infrastructure such as the Los Santos water supply. As a result, the State Government began one of the largest disaster response's seen, with food and water handouts at city hall, while SASG and SADOC crews worked to clear the debris and restore generation capacity. The incident lead to then Public Relations Director Solomon Cobb, who assisted in the reconstruction effort, to lose his leg after a piece of falling debris landed on him.
Worse, in the aftermath since the event, the perpetrators have never been apprehended and the case has been closed without resolution. While the case has gone cold, the lessons learned since the event have not with the State Government committed to ensuring that an event at that skills never takes place again, and if it does, the individuals will be held accountable. I ask everyone to remember the event, and work collectively to honor those affected by the tragedy.
Thank you to all our public service employees from Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Medical agencies for everything you do to protect our state, and may god bless San Andreas.
Three Years On: Remembering Palmer Taylor
Palmer Taylor: Three Years of Remembrance and Resilience
Three years have passed since the Palmer Taylor attacks, a day that left deep scars on our community but also revealed the unbreakable bonds we share.
Today, we remember the victims and hold their families in our hearts. 🙏
Out of tragedy came a renewed commitment to unity, compassion, and resilience. Together 🤝, we continue to rise above, proving that no act of violence can shatter our spirit. 💪

Departments Unite to Ensure Safety at Pillbox Hospital
X
GSB and Corrections Show the Power of Teamwork
The Government Security Bureau, under the request of the Department of Corrections, proudly assisted in providing security at Pillbox Hospital recently. This operation showcased the power of teamwork, with multiple agencies coming together to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved. GSB are always happy to work alongside other departments, and today’s collaboration is a strong reminder of what can be achieved when we stand united with a shared purpose.

We can confirm that there were no issues during the operation, and the safety of the public, staff, and patients was successfully maintained throughout. We want to extend our thanks to the Department of Corrections for their cooperation and to the public for their continued understanding and support.

Bringing Talent and Community Together: SASG Job Fair Highlights
Connecting San Andreas: Highlights from Our Successful SASG Job Fair

At the start of this month, we wrapped up the San Andreas State Government Job Fair, where we focused on recruiting new talent and giving the public a chance to see what our different bureaus are all about. It was a great way to help people understand what each bureau does and what they’re working towards.
For example, the Business and Property Bureau (BPB) had a lounge where folks could chat face-to-face with officials, ask questions, and get a better idea of how the bureau operates. It really helped a lot of people get a clearer picture. Meanwhile, the Government Security Bureau (GSB) ran a firing range demo where agents showed off some of the cool gear and skills they use every day.
We also had some fun activities like forklift time trials and an awesome SAAA airshow that kept everyone entertained. Overall, the fair was a big success we hired plenty of new staff in key areas and helped the public learn more about what we do.
We put together a press release about the fair and other recent events check it out here. Thanks so much to everyone who came out, and we can’t wait to see you at the next one!

Bayview Pajama Sundays
💤 Bayview’s Chill Pajama Sundays Are Changing the Game 💤

At Bayview, every Sunday is a little different. It’s Pyjama Day! This fun initiative invites staff to come to work dressed in their cosiest pyjamas, creating a relaxed and comfy vibe to help everyone feel more at ease as they wrap up their week.
Us here at SASG are genuinely excited to see a government-affiliated organisation like Bayview prioritising employee comfort and morale in such a creative way. In today’s fast-paced work environment, small touches like Pyjama Day can make a huge difference, fostering a positive culture where staff feel valued and cared for.
I had the chance to speak with Co-Owner of Bayview Evan Valentine from Bayview, who shared,
At SASG, we applaud Bayview’s forward-thinking approach and challenge other companies, whether public or private, to explore similar innovative ways to boost employee well-being.Pyjama Day started as a fun idea to lighten up the vibe, but it quickly became something much bigger. It’s about creating a space where people can relax, connect, and bring their authentic selves to work. We also do Pigeon Fridays where we only drive Pigeons to mechanic requests. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s boosting productivity and happiness across the board.
Because when staff feel good, the whole community benefits.

We have recently learned that Lotte Schloss, former manager and employee at Bayview Auto Center, has stepped down from her position. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lotte for all the dedication and hard work she contributed during her time with Bayview. We wish her all the very best in her future endeavours and continued success ahead.
Strengthening Partnerships: GSB and LSEMS Collaboration Enhances Safety
Protecting Our First Responders: GSB and LSEMS Joint Efforts and Future Plans
X
Recently, the collaboration between GSB and LSEMS has truly taken a significant step forward, with GSB actively assisting LSEMS personnel to ensure their safety and protection while they are on calls and during their duties in general. This partnership has not only reinforced the security and confidence of LSEMS teams in the field but also strengthened the trust and mutual respect between our organisations. By working closely together, we’ve been able to create a more cohesive support system, allowing both sides to operate more effectively and safely. This ongoing cooperation has opened up exciting opportunities to plan and develop future joint training programs, which will enhance skills, improve communication, and foster even greater synergy between GSB agents and LSEMS responders.

To further deepen this relationship, we reached out to the LSEMS Public Relations team, who conducted an internal survey by asking their staff specific questions we provided about the joint operation.
Do medics feel safer or more confident in your work environment when GSB personnel are present during your shifts?
Given this is a new process, it's nearly impossible to come up with a direct comparison or quantify it. With that being said, there's a new confidence in our personnel with the knowledge help is available in the event a situation escalates with GSB around.
Can you recall a time when the presence of GSB helped you feel more secure while performing your duties? What happened?
Absolutely. Anytime we’re responding to volatile or unpredictable patient calls, having GSB on scene makes a noticeable difference for many of our personnel. Their presence alone brings a sense of security that allows us to focus fully on patient care without constantly worrying about our surroundings because we have the safety net of knowing we're protected. Even when they don’t need to step in, just knowing they’re there as a safeguard creates a more controlled environment.
How would you describe the working relationship between medics and GSB on the ground?
The communication on scene is clear and professional and there’s a mutual understanding of our roles with a shared goal of ensuring the safety of all involved no matter the circumstances. Whether we’re coordinating scene control or simply operating side-by-side, there’s a solid foundation of respect we've come to greatly appreciate.
Have you learned anything new from observing or working alongside GSB, whether it’s tactical awareness, situational response, or communication under pressure?
In MD, our medics are regularly exposed to high pressure situations that require fast, coordinated communication - especially during mass casualty responses. While our training isn’t tactical in nature and never has been, working near GSB reinforces the importance of spatial awareness and remaining calm under pressure. It's a different side of the same coin and it's one we have plans to work more into our day to day in the near future.
How would you like to see this relationship grow or evolve over the next year?
We’d love to continue building rapport through joint training opportunities and ongoing communication. The more our teams understand each other’s protocols and constraints, the better we can coordinate in the field. Continued collaboration and mutual respect will only strengthen the partnership moving forward.

Similarly, we engaged with several GSB agents who had this to say:
Johnnie Ravenhill, who was recently involved in protecting LSEMS as they worked to put out a fire, had this to say:
Eoghan Sterling, who also has assisted in protecting LSEMS during incidents, shared his thoughts:I’m proud to protect LSEMS. They give so much to help the sick and people in real need. Knowing I can help keep them safe leaves me with a big sense of pride every time I return after a shift.
Seeing the dedication of the LSEMS team up close is truly inspiring. Being able to support them in critical moments fills me with pride and reminds me why our work to protect those who help others is so important.

Together, these insights reflect a promising future of cooperation, where both GSB and LSEMS can grow stronger, better prepared, and more united in serving the community.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to LSEMS for allowing us to feature this remarkable operation in our newsletter. Their dedication and professionalism are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to highlight their vital work in our community.
We look forward to strengthening our partnership with LSEMS and collaborating even more closely in the future to continue making a positive impact together.

Always forward-thinking, Lue prioritises the well-being and security of his colleagues, setting a standard for leadership that inspires those around him.
His hard work and initiative this month are a testament to his unwavering commitment to both progress and safety.
We caught up with Lue's bureau command, Security Deputy Director Tristan Murphy and Director Lester Conway, who had this to say:

Security Director of General Operations, Lester Conway wrote: I am very pleased to see Agent Washington get the recognition he so deserves. In the short amount of time he has been with us, he has become an integral part of GSB and special operations.
His work in the GSB K9 division has been paramount to its success, and I look forward to watching his progression through the division and the San Andreas state government.

Security Deputy Director of Special Operations & Head of Recruitment and Training Division, Tristan Murphy wrote: We could not be more proud of Senior Agent Lue Washington and everything he’s accomplished since rejoining the Government Security Bureau on July 11, 2025. From the very start, Lue hit the ground running, immersing himself in the Canine Division and working side-by-side with Director Conway to develop it into the fully fledged program it is today. His efforts were even spotlighted in our most recent newsletter, a testament to the impact he’s had in such a short time.
Lue’s leadership and work ethic have earned him promotion to Senior Agent, where he now serves as Head of the K-9 Division, Assistant to the Agent-in-Charge of Recruitment & Training, and Assistant Agent-in-Charge of Special Operations. His dedication, initiative, and commitment to excellence embody what the San Andreas State Government is all about. 🚴♂️ San Andreas State Government Community Bike Ride 🚴♀️
Rolling Towards Wellness: SASG Bike Ride + What’s Next
What started as a spontaneous idea from Ren and Lester quickly turned into a super fun ride around the city. The whole point? To get people moving, staying healthy, and having fun together.
We kicked things off at City Hall, and from there it was all about pedalling through Los Santos, taking in the sights, and keeping the group together. Nobody was left behind. We made regular stops so everyone could catch up, chat, and share some laughs along the way.

🗺️ The Route
- City Hall – Our starting line, full of energy and excitement.
- North Rockford Ave → Plague Emporium – First stop, quick breather and regroup.
- Marlowe Drive → Lake Vinewood – Scenic views, chill vibes, another catch-up spot.
- Baytree Canyon → Alta Street → San Andreas Ave → Legion – Testing endurance but still all smiles.
- Strawberry Ave → Adam’s Apple Blvd → Benny’s – Final checkpoint before the ride home.
- Back to City Hall – Wrapped it all up, parked the bikes, and Ren + Lester picked the Best Outfit Winner!
🌟 Why We Did It
Sure, it was fun, but the bigger goal was promoting healthy living and showing that staying active doesn’t have to feel like hard work. It can be social, it can be lighthearted, and it can bring the community closer together. Everyone got to enjoy the city in a new way, meet new faces, and get a little exercise while doing it. Not bad for a ride that started as just an idea!
📈 What’s Next
This event was such a success that it’s already sparked bigger plans. We’ve started talking with LSEMS about putting together a city-wide cycling and wellness event. The vision? More people, more bikes, and an even bigger focus on health and community. So if you missed this one, don’t worry, there’s an even larger ride coming down the road!
📸 Final Thoughts
Huge thanks to everyone who came out and rode with us. Whether you were pushing hard on the hills, laughing with friends at the stops, or rocking your best outfit for the contest! We’ll see you at the next ride!
