    The Los Santos Police Department is pleased to announce the rework of the now outdated public road closure request - Event Permit Requests may be requested for a number of event types, so long as they are well planned in advance, and have the appropriate marshals, security, and BLS assistance provided where required. Any event taking place on public property inclusive of anything not privately owned requires an Event Permit Request. The Los Santos Police Department will not be responsible for any event security, and will simply provide assistance with public road closures. We highly recommend the hiring of private security where required.

    The form required to be submitted to host a car show, community event, a street fair, a parade, or even a red carpet is called an Event Permit Request.

    The Los Santos Police Department processes requests for the temporary closure of streets within the City of Los Santos for the following types of activities:
    Activities List
    • Athletic Events
      • Marathons
      • 5k or 10k runs
      • Walkathons
      • Bike races
      • Street Closures
      • Legal street races
      • Community events
      • Block parties
      • Celebrations
      • Street fairs
      • Parades
      • Processions
      • Planned demonstrations or marches
      • Ceremonies, Red Carpets, and Grand Openings
      • Closures for political purposes
      • Other similar events
    • Special Events
      • Events which the LSPD has identified as citywide special events, and appropriated some form of funding or provided City Services. All street closure requirements apply to special events unless otherwise stipulated.
  • When requesting an Event Permit Requests permit, the process is as follows:
    • Review the attached form.
    • Plan your event and allocated all necessary assets.
    • Fill out the attached form with event details.
    • Forward the form to the Vinewood Traffic Division Command.

    Safety during these kinds of events that require Event Permit Requests is crucial. Having medical personnel on standby is a must in life-threatening moments, and proper planning to prevent lethal injuries or any injuries at all is imperative and worth considering. You, as the future event planner, take all responsibility when it comes to damage, injury of even death during these events, be mindful of that.

    The level of safety is entirely up to the event host. Little to no safety is unacceptable and your permit is liable to be denied. Carefully outline the steps you will take to prevent incidents from happening, and what you will do to save a life as the direct coordinator of the event in a life-threatening situation. The usage of alcohol, illegal substances or any kind of medication is prohibited during the event that might impair the attendee(s) in any way, shape, or form.

    An Event Permit Request can be submitted in the Event Permit Requests section located on the front desk of the Los Santos Police Department website, HERE.

    The Vinewood Traffic Division of the Los Santos Police Department is allowed to assist in each and every event in a managing capacity. Traffic Officers may use barriers, cones, and arrows to redirect traffic, mark out pathways or race tracks, or simply regulate the flow of traffic in and out of the desired event area.

    Examples of hosted events can be found HERE, and HERE. A noteworthy example of a successful event is the Tire Tear Down event hosted by the Bayview Auto Center on the 20th of March 2021. The event included a car show and a drift arena where participants could use their own, or a provided vehicle to drift in an outlined area. During this event, safety precautions were taken to the maximum which resulted in no injuries or damages to public or private property.

    Be mindful before submitting your Event Permit Request. Make sure to submit the form in a timely manner, have the event planned out prior to requesting a permit, or allocate time during the reviewal period to plan it in a timely manner.

    Any public event hosted on public property of the City of Los Santos must have the approval to host prior - approval which can be obtained through the Event Permit Request. If an event is not approved by the Los Santos Police Department, with or without the usage of an official event license issued by the San Andreas State Government, it is liable to be shut down.
