Roleplay Feedback - Information

This is area is entirely Out of Character. This area is for community members to be able to provide feedback, both good and bad, about interactions with SD. This is not for Internal Affairs Reports, neither to report rule breaks.

Roleplay Feedback - Information

Information about Roleplay Feedback

The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department is a faction on Eclipse Roleplay that strives to provide the community with as realistic police roleplay as possible. Our faction is built with inspiration from US police agencies, primarily the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. However, one must understand that the environment on Eclipse Roleplay is created by the players, guided by established server rules by Server Administration, which is why our faction adapts and changes constantly based on the current In Character environment.

This is for example why you can see our faction, sometimes operate on sport's bikes and in sport's vehicles, because over the years, the police factions on Eclipse Roleplay have had to adapt In Character to how criminal operates in order to be able to continue their IC goal of doing what they were created to do, enforce the law and consequences. However, despite our adaption, we strictly regulate the usage of tools such as our High-Speed Interception Units, not only does it take months in order to be able to certify for all of our High-Speed Interception units, but the drivers are also held to a set of strict rules.

We understand that, like anything in the world, we're not perfect, there's always going to be ways for us to improve how we approach role-play scenarios, and we're willing to hear you out and potentially make changes where necessary. However, as much as we appreciate and want feedback on what we've done good or bad, we also expect you to point out any errors that you may have done and what you could've done better, because errors are mostly not one-way, and to have a civilized improvement it's imperative that errors aren't only raised from one side.

When providing feedback, take these bullet points into account:
  • Be positive - In situations where you feel errors have been made, there are also going to be positives. Don't only focus on the negatives.
  • Focus on the behavior, not the person. - Make sure to focus on the actions and not the person.
  • Be specific - Provide tangible examples of the behavior in question. If you are going to point out errors, be specific to the situation at hand and if possible, provide evidence to back your claims up.
  • Be timely - The longer you wait to provide feedback, the more difficult and/or impossible it's going to be to verify the situation and provide an accurate response or make any necessary changes.
  • Make sure you are clear on why you are delivering the feedback
  • Make it a two-way conversation.
When you submit your feedback, you can expect a response from us within 7 days, or depending on the amount of feedback we've received, it may be up to 14 days. All feedback received will be reviewed during our weekly supervisory staff meeting. While you will not initially be able to see your feedback thread, once we've provided a response to it, we'll move it into a public area for you to read.

Finally, understand that:
  • This form is not to submit Internal Affairs Reports, don't submit these expecting internal punishments to be handed out.
  • This form is also not to submit accusations of rule violations, the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department's members are players like anyone else, and reports of rule violations need to be submitted as a Player Report either in-game or through the Eclipse Roleplay Forums' Player Reports Section.
