Information
The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department's Highway Enforcement Division offers traffic safety measures to event organizers who seek to host an event in the County of Los Santos, which will obstruct the public's access to roads, pedestrian walkways, or otherwise pose any risk to the safety of the public.

It's the responsibility of the event organizer(s) to ensure that this application is sent at least 14 days before the event is due to be held, and it's also their responsibility to ensure that they hire adequate security (if need be), have BLS trained event staff, and that they cover any other services that the participants of the event may require. The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department solely offers traffic safety measures such as road closure.

The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department does not offer road closure for the purpose of parking, regardless of the event type. Our focus is on traffic safety, and it's the responsibility of the event organizer(s) to offer proper parking services to the participants of the events.

It's the responsibility of the event organizer(s) to ensure that any needed licensing from the San Andreas State Government is obtained and that they are legally hosting the event for which they are applying for a special event permit.

The following activities are eligible for a special event application:
  • Sports & Athletic Events, such as but not limited to: Marathons, 5k or 10k runs, Walkathons, Bike Races, Rally Races, Sportscar racing
  • Political Events, such as but not limited to: Planned demonstrations or marches.
  • Community Events, such as but not limited to: Block Parties, Parades, Street Fairs, Celebrations
  • Ceremonies, Red Carpets, and Grand Openings
  • Processions
Requirements
Each event will require a dedicated host, who will be responsible for the organization of the event, and filling out the application for the permit. In order for the application to be approved, you must satisfy the following requirements:
  • The host's record must not have any serious misdemeanors or felonies within the last 3 months.
  • A minimum of 14 days' notice of the requested event.
  • Have a specified date and time for the event.
  • Be able to disclose the type of planned event.
  • Where someone BLS certified is required, have proof of an individual with a BLS certification available for the event.
  • Be able to assure the LSSD that they can control the event participants, and provide private security where necessary to remove individuals not permitted to attend.
  • Adhere to the rules regarding the attendance of gang-affiliated individuals at the event.
Due to internal policies and for the protection of the public, if event organizers are not open to removing individuals who openly represent a criminal organization in either speech, actions, or clothes/vehicles, the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department will shut the event down as their services will no longer be offered, thus invalidating the special event permit.

We also require that there is at least 1 BLS certified individual involved in the event as either staff or event organizer, regardless of the type of event.

Furthermore, the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department will, in addition to the requirements, consider certain factors prior to approving proposed traffic safety measures.
  • Road Closures should not impose the accessibility of emergency vehicles.
  • Road Closures should offer alternate routes for traffic, whether foot or motor traffic.
  • Road Closures should have no interference with commercial and business activities in the immediate vicinity.
  • Road Closures should have a minimal impact on residents, occupants, or business persons of the relevant area.
