This past Saturday was a warm weekend night and all was calm until Kyle Strange decided to pick up some tequila for his pet turtle "Turtley". However, that is just the story that he has given us. It seems to be that Mr. Strange must have consumed some of that tequila himself, after our deputies conducted a breathalyzer on him, his blood alcohol content was tested at an insane 0.28 BAC. Which if you are not sure, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08 BAC, he was three times over the limit. We are very thankful that we caught him before the reckless operation of his vehicle injured anyone.
The events unfolded as Mr. Strange drove directly at a deputy's vehicle at high rates of speed, which prompted deputies to conduct a traffic stop on Mr. Strange. However, Mr. Strange demonstrated no signs of compliance, as he took off from them and began a high-speed pursuit around the county. Deputies chased him around the county, off-road, on highways, and on side streets, he was basically everywhere. Despite his erratic driving, deputies were able to apprehend him after he flipped his car in the Great Chapapparl Mountains.
Surprisingly, Mr. Strange sustained no life-threatening injuries and was able to crawl out of his vehicle, to promptly be arrested. After being arrested and searched, deputies found an empty bottle of tequila in his possession. Mr. Strange claims to have gotten the tequila for his turtle as he was thirsty, but his blood alcohol content tells a different story.
