On the 29th of October a drag race event was held in the area of Cypress Flats, Elysian Fields by The Amarillo Aces, a motor vehicle club. The event was scheduled and organized with the Vinewood Traffic Division of the Los Santos Police Department who were present at the event and provided assistance. Traffic Officers of the Vinewood Traffic Division assisted by setting up the race track, maintaining it, and providing supervision. The event accommodated close to 20 participants who had the chance to go up against one another in their personal vehicles on the race track.

Traffic Officers of the Vinewood Traffic Divisions and members of the Los Santos Police Department Supervisor Team cleared the track before every race to ensure maximum safety, allowing for the event to go through without incident. Dozens of races were hosted that included great fun and a competitive spirit amongst participants. In hindsight, a great community event took place as a result of a team effort and mutual understanding. We thank The Aces for allowing us to assist with their event as the Los Santos Police Department seeks to pursue new initiatives that will allow seamless event hosting that will allow easier integration, so that the hosts and attendees are satisfied, and law and order are upheld.

Legal street races allow competitive racers an outlet, a legal one, compared to illegal street racing which is reckless and dangerous and often comes with fatalities and incidents. By setting up legal street races with the Los Santos Police Department and the Vinewood Traffic Division, everyone attending can be sure safety standards are met, and that no one is put at unnecessary risk. We encourage anyone interested in hosting a public vehicle event to see this release for more information.
