- SECTION 4 - LONG RESPONSE
4.1 Why do you want to be employed with the Judicial Branch? (75 WORDS):- During my final year of high school, I got inspired to join the Law 101 class taught by one of the professors. I soon found myself investing a large chunk of my time into Canadian law, focusing primarily on criminal cases. During this time, I became well known as a fast learner and was able to go above and beyond the requirements for this class. This skill set that I had developed led me to create a strong bond with the professor for the course, and we would often spend our lunch breaks discussing current cases and watching live proceedings that were happening at that given moment. Joining the Los Santos Judicial branch is my attempt to rekindle the flame of passion I once had for the justice system and truly impact those living in Los Santos using my endless drive and innovation.
- I think my most defining trait is my endless drive, even in the face of adversity. This skill is something that I've worked on more since joining LSEMS, as we intervene in stressful situations that require additional drive when we might feel exhausted after a long shift. In the Judicial branch, there will often be times where the odds seem stacked against your client, and you'll need to be able to face this type of situation with a clear, level head. The client relies heavily on your ability to process, evaluate and execute their case, regardless of these odds. The wish to do the best for the sake of their clients despite the circumstances should be the main driving force for a member of the judicial branch to be willing to put in more than the necessary work to assure that their clients receive the best verdict possible.
- A significant issue that requires attention is more CCTV and security around the latter half of the pier. There has been an endless complaint of matters by the people of Los Santos, and for a good reason. The pier is considered one of the busiest areas for social gatherings seen in Los Santos, far more than any other gathering place we've seen to date. Everything from dance parties to fishing companions will find themselves visiting the pier, yet we still see a significant increase in crime in that region due to the lack of security present at the location. This neglect of such a valued hang-out spot made it notorious for being a center for car theft and other forms of crime. Finding a solution between the people of Los Santos, LSPD, and the Los Santos Government for this crime epicentre is vital for the future enjoyment and progress of this area. Turning the tide on the very negative perception the pier presents for the general population can be a critical asset to improve the longevity of such a valued space and can create more business opportunities in the future if the city of Los Santos sees fit.

- A speeding ticket from the camera on the Pier which was immediately paid off.
- On September 2nd, 1999, Lucas Panes and Amelia Brooke gave birth to two healthy twins, my sister Iris Panes and myself. Despite being born in Los Santos, my family moved to Canada very early, and I received most of my education there. Soon after, my mother fell very sick with liver disease and passed away within a year of her diagnosis. This unfortunate situation led to my sister and father engaging in substance abuse and other crimes. I soon became incredibly familiar with the legal system as I spent many days participating in cases regarding my two family members. Often, courthouse staff would describe me as highly intrigued and on the edge of my seat regarding the trials I witnessed. When I entered high school, I soon learned of a law class taught by one of my school professors. Upon reaching the requirements to join this class, I immediately registered and found myself fully engulfed in legal studies. This class encouraged me to be more hardworking and studious to keep up with the course material, and I think I can say that such a course heavily benefited my scholarly nature. Despite choosing a major in the French language, I never once stopped loving studying the law, and will often find myself watching court cases and reading books written by former judges during my free time. I want to use this never-ending passion to truly benefit such a growing city and leave a lasting impact.

- I actually took law during my final year of high school and am still extremely passionate about the legal system. While I do have more of a focus on Canadian law, I feel like it will be a very intriguing and educative process to be able to look at American Law in more depth while also enjoying RP.
