Request Information
Detailed information of your request:
Hello,
I hope this message finds you well and that you have had a good week so far.
I am writing for information regarding your department’s policy and procedures surrounding requests for officers’ badge numbers. In the past, I have been told that citizens are within their rights to ask for badge number identification and that officers must comply with the request, but are not required to disclose their names or other personal information. Has this policy changed or is this still the standard?
If this policy is still standard, are there any loopholes or caveats surrounding it? For example, if I am the witness to a traffic stop, am I able to request the badge numbers of officers myself? Are badge numbers always public information or is it up to the officers’ discretion?
If anyone is available, beyond receiving written information, I would also love the opportunity to set up a meeting for a recorded interview to be included inside a report that is currently in production.
Thank you so much for your time, and for keeping Los Santos safe. I look forward to hearing from you!
Warmest regards,
Molly Devil - Editor in Chief
