Each month, one officer is selected by our Police Supervisors to receive this most prestigious award. This award is an overall congratulation for universal commitment, achievement, and excellence throughout the department. An officer who achieves this award is an exemplary member of the department who should be looked up to as an inspiration and role-model.

    Police Officer II Alex Schill
Police Officer II Alex Schill joined the Los Santos Police Department in July of 2021. Officer Schill was promoted to Police Officer I in late July after graduating from his Academy and completing his Field Training Program in quick succession. Officer Schill was upgraded to Police Officer II in early September following a month of dedication and staggering performance in the Rockford Hills Patrol Division. Following the dissolution of the Rockford Hills Patrol Division in mid-September Officer Schill was reassigned to Mission Row as his new Patrol Division. Officer Schill, a Field Training Officer, a Media Relations Officer as well as a Detective Support Officer and Air Support Division Pilot earned his mettle as the Officer of the Month for the month of September.

Excelling among his peers, Officer Schill amassed 164 shift hours in four weeks which puts him at an average of 41 hours per week. Officer Schill maintained his fieldwork with impressive office work managing to bring his total paperwork count to 109 pieces of optional and non-optional paperwork. 'As an Officer, he is a pleasure to work with' - a colleague says, Officer Schill never fails to arrive on a shift in an upbeat mood and tries to help wherever he can, civilians and Police staff alike. Officer Schill received an employee commendation in the month of September where he is praised for his admirable respectability and demeanor. We would all like to congratulate Officer Schill on a fantastic month and hope to see him progress further, congratulations Alex!

FEATURED DIVISION

Los Santos Police Department Patrol Divisions, consisting of multiple precincts around Los Santos, fall under the General Operations Bureau within the Los Santos Police Department. These divisions are the heart and soul of day-to-day operations within the department and consist of the majority of the officers in the department. There are three major patrol divisions within the General Operation Bureau, composed of the Mission Row Patrol Division, the Vespucci Patrol Division, and the Vinewood Traffic Division. While Deputy Chief of Police Phillipe Sanchez oversees the General Operations Bureau, each patrol division has its own substructure to guide and assist officers in their careers. In an effort to make the divisions more efficient, they were recently restructured as of the beginning of September.

Each patrol division has its own commanding officer, assistant commanding officer, patrol commander, and patrol supervisor. Underneath these commanding officers includes up to three patrol sections or formally known as watches, each consisting of up to nine officers and a supervisor. This structure allows each officer within the patrol divisions to get specialized and detailed attention as well as a point of contact. Information can easily be relayed up the chain of command as needed to answer any questions, provide guidance, and/or keep track of their progression. All officers, upon being promoted from the rank of cadet, will start off in either the Mission Row or Vespucci Patrol Division; whereas the Vinewood Traffic Division has specific entry requirements.

The Mission Row Patrol Division, its headquarters located at the three-story police station on Sinner Street, covers the districts of South Los Santos, East Los Santos, and Downtown Los Santos, however officers are allowed to patrol the city freely. The division is commanded by Captain Grace Hunter with Sergeant Hector Mayfield working as the division’s Assisting Commanding Officer and Captain Dezzy Bala acting in the capacity of the Patrol Commander. Mission Row is also the precinct where cadets get their start, however, they are overseen by the field training staff.

The Vespucci Precinct is home to the Vespucci Patrol Division and while not restricted to patrolling these areas, has a police station located on San Andreas Avenue covering the districts of Del Perro, Vespucci, La Puerta, and Pacific Bluffs, also covering the Los Santos International Airport. Lieutenant Elizabeth Sanchez is the Commanding Officer, with Sergeant Jessica Nash as Assistant Commanding Officer. Right now, the precinct is home to 17 officers of various ranks from Police Officer I and up, while conducting their duties alongside the officers in Mission Row and Vinewood Traffic Division, and those in other specialized departments such as the Detective Bureau and Metropolitan Division.

Of the three general patrol divisions within the General Operations Bureau, the Vinewood Traffic Division has an added responsibility. Officers must apply to this division specifically after becoming a Police Officer I and undergo specialized screening and training. Commanded by Lieutenant Steve Smyth with Sergeant Jonathan Norton as the Assisting Command Officer, the Vinewood Traffic Division also known to many as 'VTD' for short, has a two-story police station located on Vinewood Boulevard. This division specializes in enforcing traffic laws through the city of Los Santos with a specialized method of policing and traffic enforcement. The mission of the Vinewood Traffic Division is to stop reckless drivers responsible for the injury and death of innocent civilians throughout the city of Los Santos. They aim to intervene before the accidents occur through a number of tactics including traffic checkpoints, speed traps, traffic stops, and deployment of specialized vehicles such as the Police Drafter and Police Kamacho.

The Los Santos Police Department has evolved considerably since it was founded many years ago and with that multiple structure styles have come and gone. Two years ago, we began to see a huge surge in recruitment to the point that last year we had over 160 officers on our payroll! Therefore there had to be expansions. These expansions initially resulted in the opening of the Rockford Hills Patrol Division and then soon after the La Mesa Patrol Division.

However, as our fantastic hard-working officers evolve their careers, focus on specialties, and eventually retire or move on to different ventures, the need for such diversity in the General Operations Bureau was no longer required. Thus, the tightening of the Bureau began initially with the closure of La Mesa and more recently Rockford Hills. I feel going back to the original structure of 3 patrol divisions within the bureau is a valuable move as it means our supervisors are not too spread out and are more focused on a relevant batch of officers to help support their development as peace officers of the state.

  • The patrol divisions of the Los Santos Police Department are not only a jumping-off point for officers as they progress in their career but provide the majority of the vanguard of the force. These officers may also be part of other divisions such as serving as community relations officers or air support pilots which we have featured in the past, however, their main operations lay in general policing operations through the community and enforcement of the Los Santos penal code. The officers in these patrol divisions are crucial to day-to-day operations, protecting and serving the citizens of Los Santos around the clock.

FEATURED EMPLOYEE

Police Officer III Shay Hudson grew up in Liberty City - being the son of the former deceased Chief of Police in Liberty City. Officer Hudson's father's tenure as Chief of Police in Liberty City saw a great reduction in crime and a massive crackdown on the organized crime that had previously run rampant throughout the city. With the admirable work being done by Officer Hudson's father he soon becomes a target of the local mafia. Unfortunately, the mafia was successful in their plot - but his father's last wish was for his son to become a law enforcement officer and continue to serve the community in his name.

After Officer Hudson's loss, he moves to San Andreas, leaving his mother and brother behind, to fulfill the wish of his father. Officer Hudson became a Correctional Officer at Bolingbroke Penitentiary to learn more about the Justice System and prepare him to in becoming a Police Officer. Soon after his time as a Correctional Officer, he joined the Los Santos Police Department to help protect and serve the citizens of Los Santos as best he can. Officer Hudson is an officer within the Mission Row Patrol Division which is within the General Operations Bureau. When Officer Hudson begins his watch he is filled with the memories of his father and strives to respect and honor the uniform he wears.

Officer Hudson's goals, while on duty, are to prevent crimes within the City of Los Santos and help serve the people. He will focus on any active emergency calls that may come from our emergency line but also be on the lookout for any suspicious activities or unreported crimes when there are no active 911 calls. Officer Hudson will also focus his attention on Traffic Enforcement to help combat reckless driving and speeding in the city. Officer Hudson is also a Field Training Officer and is responsible for the training of Cadets within the Los Santos Police Department. While training Cadets Officer Hudson will focus on teaching them how to enforce the penal code of Los Santos as well on how to conduct themselves in different situations and showing them how to conduct general policing duties.

No matter the barrier, always do everything to the best of your ability to serve Your community. To me, this quote goes out to all citizens of San Andreas, for them to do their best in order to serve their community no matter who they are and what they are - so their colleagues, family, and friends can flourish and continue to develop endlessly, for the better of everyone.

  • As a Police Officer for the City of Los Santos Officer Hudson hopes to serve the community and stop crimes from occurring. He hopes to help prevent any harm to the innocent people of Los Santos and ultimately prevent corruption from all sides. He also wants to ensure that no child has to go through the same agony that he went through himself. Officer Hudson hopes that he has been serving the community well and enforcing the law when needed.

FEATURED INCIDENT

  • On 16th September 2021 at around 2300 a patrol Officer came across a deceased individual during his patrol of the Chumash area, in the Chumash Plaza parking lot. The Officer in mind immediately parked their patrol car and requested additional units to canvas and close the area down - the deceased individual had visible gunshot wounds with small-caliber shelling all around the body of the deceased.

  • -
A group of individuals in a green vehicle who were in the area prior to the arrival of the Officer per reports later approached the Officer while they were closing the plaza down - at that point an individual from the group, now a suspect removed a weapon from their waistline and overpowered the Officer. The Officer was demanded to move away from the corpse under gunpoint - being instructed to walk down to the shore behind Chumash Plaza. The suspect had no clear intentions at the time but to tamper with evidence and prevent the Officer from investigating the situation.

Additional units that were previously requested slowly started arriving on the scene of the shooting and it was not long after they saw the Officer was in immediate danger and being taken away. The suspects spotted the arriving units and fled, with the gunman mounting a white bike, a crosser, in an attempt to leave the scene of the crime. A helicopter unit also known as an airship was responding to the incident and was quick to arrive - maintaining visual contact of the primary suspect and supporting units secured the scene of the initial situation.

    -
The airship latched onto the suspect as units who were previously on the scene of the attempted kidnapping and allowed units to pinpoint the location of the armed suspect. The armed suspect was shot down in the Richman Glen area after they dismounted their bike and shot at pursuing units. The suspect did not sustain any life-threatening injuries and was transported to Pillbox Hill for surgery and treatment before being sent to Bolingbroke Penitentiary to serve their sentence.
