Requesting a Supervisor
  • All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Whether you are just walking down the street or you have just been arrested for committing a crime, you should always be handled respectfully by members of the Los Santos Police Department. While our Officers are trained to be at the very best to their abilities, a situation can always develop in such a way that you feel you would want a higher-ranking Officer taking a look at it. This would be a Police Supervisor.

Police Supervisors are Police Officer III+1s and Police Detective Is or any higher-ranked Police Officer who has been approved for the Supervisor Training Program. In the event you would like a supervisor to attend your scene, you are free to request a supervisor to attend your scene. Per Los Santos Police Department regulations, employees are not obligated to request a supervisor to a situation when asked. However, if the employee chooses not to request a supervisor to a situation, they are required to inform the complainant that they can forward an Employee Complaint to the Internal Affairs Division.

In the situation, you want to forward an Employee Complaint, be sure to ask the relevant Officer for their badge number. Per Los Santos Police Department regulations, employees are required to provide their badge number when requested. However, in contrast to popular belief, employees of the Los Santos Police Department are not required to give out other identifying information.
Posting an Officer Complaint
  • If you have not been treated appropriately by a member of the Los Santos Police Department, you should contact the Internal Affairs Group. IAG investigates all allegations of excessive force, verbal abuse including bias, and coercion involving violence, involving members of the Los Santos Police Department. IAG documents complaints of other forms of misconduct and refers them to the Los Santos Police Department’s Bureau of Internal Affairs. IAG is committed to conducting investigations that are thorough and fair. Your cooperation and commitment are invaluable to us. The Officer Complaint form can be found here.

If you want to file an Officer Complaint, please include the following information to the best of your ability: The day, date, time, and exact location of the incident. The Officers name, badge number, and physical description. Witnesses' names, addresses, and telephone numbers. License numbers for any vehicles involved in the incident. Any other evidence you feel may be important such as copies of citations, photographs, and medical records. If you have injuries include their nature and extent. If you are injured it is vitally important that you file your complaint as soon as possible so that photographs can be taken and medical records obtained quickly. When you file your police misconduct complaint, you should receive a copy of it regardless of how it is filed. IAG does receive anonymous complaints. Anonymous complaints will be treated with the same importance as any other complaint; however, please be aware anonymous complaints cannot be sustained without additional evidence.-
