LSPD Bestows Police Life Saving Medals on Three Officers

LOS SANTOS, SA —

Los Santos: The Los Santos Police Department has bestowed the Police Life Saving Medal upon Police Officer III Nathan Callen, Police Officer I Nala Russo, and Police Officer I Steve Knol in recognition of their heroic actions during two separate life-threatening incidents. Officer Callen joined the Department on July 17, 2025, as a member of Police Academy Class #280 and currently serves as a Police Officer III and SWAT Officer within the Metropolitan Division. Officer Knol joined on June 29, 2026, as a graduate of Police Academy Class #295, while Officer Russo joined on July 6, 2026, as a graduate of Police Academy Class #297. Both currently hold the rank of Police Officer I.

The medals were presented by Captain II Jamie Lockwood. These Police Life Saving Medals were awarded to officers who took action to rescue, or attempt the rescue of, another person from imminent danger.

Officer Callen received the medal for his response during a large-scale attack carried out by heavily armed members of the Rooks criminal organization. When the violence reached Mission Row Police Station, Officer Callen protected civilian personnel and secured the building, preventing the suspects from entering the station and placing arriving officers at risk of an ambush. He later helped lead responding personnel through a second armed confrontation, which concluded with the remaining suspects being apprehended or incapacitated.

Officers Russo and Knol received the medal for their response to the ambush of a Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department deputy by three heavily armed suspects. Despite facing an armoured suspect equipped with a Carbine Rifle Mk II, the two officers advanced using only their .50 firearms and successfully created an opportunity to reach the critically wounded deputy. Officer Russo then moved the deputy to safety and administered the urgent medical treatment necessary to preserve their life.

Through their courage under fire, decisive action, and unwavering commitment to preserving life, Officers Callen, Russo, and Knol exemplified the highest standards expected of members of the Los Santos Police Department. Their actions protected civilian personnel, responding officers, and a critically wounded deputy from imminent danger.

The Los Santos Police Department proudly congratulates all three officers on this well-earned recognition and thanks them for their heroism, professionalism, and dedication to protecting the lives of others.
