LSPD Honors World Public Transport Day
LOS SANTOS, SA —
On April 17, 2026, the International Association of Public Transport and its partners worldwide launched a new initiative that will henceforth be marked every year on the same day as World Public Transport Day.
World Public Transport Day is a global celebration of the critical role public transport plays in the everyday lives of so many people, allowing them to travel within and between their towns and cities, contributing to economic prosperity, overall success, and development. A chance to shine a light on the chances and possibilities thanks to public transport, and to celebrate the journeys that bring us all together.
Notably, around May, 2025, the public transit system underwent a major overhaul, seeing the merger of the primary transportation networks and companies under one umbrella, Los Santos Transit, with the implementation of new bus routes and the installation of new bus stops and waiting zones, significantly improving the relevance, use-cases, and efficiency of the City's transport network and system.
Nevertheless, while this day and its meaning are cause for celebration, the Los Santos Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind any (would-be) users of the public transportation networks of the following tips to remain vigilant and safe:
Do you reside in the Mission Row area and work around Bolingbroke Penitentiary? Do you live and travel elsewhere within the City, with a bus route nearby? Consider taking the bus to work today, and join in on the global celebration!
The Los Santos Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of all residents, visitors, and tourists across the public transportation system and networks of Los Santos. By working together, we can keep our City moving safely.

- You are encouraged to approach officers at any time for assistance.
- Avoid displaying large amounts of cash or valuables, and keep bags zipped and in front of you, or within your view, in crowded areas.
- Stay aware of your surroundings at all times, but especially during peak hours or during nighttime travels.
- "See something, say something" applies universally; report unattended items, unusual behavior, or threats/safety concerns immediately via an emergency call.
- Follow posted transit regulations and use common courtesy; no disorderly conduct, no smoking on the bus, be respectful to others, and help maintain a safe environment for all.
