Responsible Operation of Newly Imported Vehicles

LOS SANTOS, SA —
The Los Santos Police Department has become aware of and acknowledges the recent availability of new imported vehicles within the State, operating on public roadways. While such developments, increases, and paired excitement are noted, motorists are hereby reminded that the traffic laws as set forth by the San Andreas Penal Code remain fully in effect.

When operating a vehicle purchased from a licensed vehicle retailer, please ensure that you are operating the vehicle legally:
  • Adhere to the established speed limits, which are 50kmh on the Del Perro Pier, 80kmh within city limits, 120kmh on county roads, and 145kmh on highways, interstates, and freeways.
  • Use reasonable care while operating the vehicle; do not operate the vehicle while distracted, under the influence, or otherwise impaired.
  • Follow traffic signage, do not make illegal U-turns, maintain your lanes, and yield where appropriate.
  • Generally, practice common sense and courtesy while operating your vehicle on public roads.
Moreover, while the Department understands and acknowledges the joy and culture of modifications being made to these vehicles, it is important to remember the restrictions and laws set forth within the State, with respect to modifications such as xenon headlights being permitted only in white or yellow on public roads, with the only exception being the travel between a home destination to an event and back.

Violations of traffic laws may result in legal repercussions, ranging from the issuance of citations, demerit points, and license suspensions for infractions, to heftier citations and potential prosecution and jail time for more serious offenses.

Unsafe driving can have irreversible consequences and extend beyond those that are legal in nature. A single lapse in judgment can result in a serious injury or even loss of life, affecting not only the driver but also innocent individuals and their families, permanently. Use common sense and courtesy, and practice safe driving.
