1. INFORMATION
- Former employees of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department that received an honorable discharge or a discharge for AWOL (( inactivity )) are entitled to request reinstatement to the department. Employees that were discharged for failing to complete the Field Training Program will need to seek employment through our Recruitment & Employment Office.
All reinstatements are handled differently, case by case basis. This is what we consider during reinstatement discussions:- Length of Absence.
- Changes to the department during your absence
- Your previous position and role within the department.
- Your effort in upholding responsibilities in your previous position & role.
- Your performance during your time outside the department.
- (( Your behavior and performance in the community all around. ))
- Availability in terms of positions in the department.
- A drop in at least one rank. You are not entitled to reinstate into your old position, this is again treated case by case basis and our decision will be based on your performance all around, length of absence and department vacancies.
- After a successful reinstatement, If you have been away for longer than 30 days you will have to complete our final session of the Field Training Program before you can assume the position that we're offering you. The final session of the Field Training Program is the evaluative session, which will allow us to see whether you are capable of performing at a Deputy level. In the event of you failing your evaluative session, you may be put back to Trainee and be forced to undergo the regular Field Training Program.
- Length of Absence.
