Los Santos: The Officer of the Month recognition highlights one member of the Los Santos Police Department each month who has consistently gone above and beyond in the line of duty. Supervisory staff evaluate officer performance department-wide not only by their time on duty, but also by their administrative efforts, quality of work, attitude, teamwork, and adherence to the core values that define the Department. Dedication, outstanding performance, unrivaled professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the people of Los Santos are just some of the qualities that define these officers.

For February 2026, it is with great honor that we recognize Detective I George Pinkerton, who recently joined the Major Crimes Division (MCD) as a Detective. Since joining Major Crimes, Detective Pinkerton has quickly demonstrated the unrivaled work ethic, investigative mindset, and professionalism expected of those tasked with handling some of the city’s most serious case files.

Detective Pinkerton first joined the Los Santos Police Department as a member of Academy Class #223 on February 17th, 2023, and has since built a reputation as a dependable and versatile officer. Throughout his career, he has served the Department in multiple capacities, including as a Pilot with the Air Support Division, a Field Training Officer, and as a Firearms Licensing Officer within the Firearms Licensing Division.

In 2025, he was awarded the Meritorious Patrol Officer Award, recognizing officers who have demonstrated consistent dedication and professionalism during at least six months of service within a General Operations Bureau Patrol Division. The award reflects the sustained effort and commitment he brought to patrol operations during his time on the front lines of the Department.

Since joining the Major Crimes Division, Detective Pinkerton has continued to demonstrate the same professionalism, teamwork, and drive that have defined his career thus far.

The Los Santos Police Department proudly congratulates Detective I George Pinkerton on being named Officer of the Month for February 2026, and thanks him for his continued commitment to protecting and serving the people of Los Santos.

Detective Pinkerton was nominated by Detective Supervisor, Zero Hunter who serves as a Detective Supervisor in the Major Crimes Division:

Detective II Zero Hunter, Detective Supervisor, Major Crimes Division wrote: George Pinkerton managed to accumulate a massive amount of hours over the month of February (122.6) and within it managed to not only complete his duties within DB but also upheld the high standard we expect from our officers in their day to day. Having only just become a Detective he is already showing a very promising future within the division through his work ethic. His efforts go a long way especially as he manages to balance his DB duties with the effort he puts into all his other divisions such as Field Training and I personally am excited to see him grow into a seasoned detective.

Officer of the Month Detective George Pinkerton wrote:
How would you describe your responsibilities within the department?

As a detective, my responsibilities include conducting thorough criminal investigations, collecting and evaluating evidence, interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects, collaborating with other law enforcement personnel, and preparing detailed reports to support my arrests.

What does wearing the badge mean to you?

Wearing the badge means accepting a deep responsibility to serve and protect the community with integrity, courage, and professionalism. It represents a commitment to uphold the law fairly, treat people with respect, and act ethically even when no one is watching. To me, the badge symbolizes accountability, trust, and sacrifice, understanding that the community relies on you during their most difficult moments. It’s not just a symbol of authority, but a reminder of the duty to lead by example and make decisions that reflect honor and service.

What goals are you currently working toward within the department?

I recently reached a very old goal of mine, which is becoming a Detective within the LSPD. Now my next goal is to continue working as a Detective and progress, help solve cases and bring peace to the victims of Los Santos.

What advice would you give to officers who are early in their careers?

Do not be afraid to learn, do not be afraid to reach out, ask questions and get the experience that you need. This job is not about looks, its about the experience the officer has. Put in the work, take your time with learning everything and all the pieces will fall into their place eventually. I'm here if you need anything haha!

What’s one thing you hope the public understands about the work officers do?

One thing I hope the public understands is that police work is rarely “all fun and games.” What people often see is the arrest at the end, but they don’t see the countless hours spent behind the scenes reviewing reports, analyzing evidence, conducting interviews, following up on leads, and carefully building a case strong enough to hold up in court.

A successful outcome usually comes from patience, persistence, and detailed work, not just what happens in a single moment. Much of the job involves long hours, paperwork, coordination with other units, and making sure every step is done correctly so that justice is actually achieved in the end.

The Department finds it important to acknowledge the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of our officers amidst their daily challenges and responsibilities.

Please join us in congratulating Detective I George Pinkerton on this prestigious award. We look forward to his continued success with the Los Santos Police Department.
