Witness Statement
- Hello,
As my arrest report states i was returning to the county and drove by Bennies. When passing by i noticed Felarx Knight get out of his kamacho before drawing out a carbine MK II and quickly getting back in after noticing i was watching.
A pursuit was quickly called and as units arrived it was noticed that there was a man in the trunk of the car. It was quickly determined by us that the man in the trunk was injured (cause unknown). Quickly after the pursuit went up onto Olympic Freeway where i was able to close the gap on the driver and was able to hear the man in the trunk of the kamacho shout to Mr. Knight "Felarx you have fucked me.". At the time of the shouting there was another 2 cars trying to intervene with the pursuit so i backed off of the kamacho before hearing anymore of the conversation.
After making a U-turn on Olympic Freeway Mr. Knight proceeded to drive in the incorrect lane with a man in his trunk to get off of the freeway. Once off the freeway he proceeded to drive towards Public Parking. At this time PD joined the pursuit and we moved to JTAC. After arriving to Public Parking Mr. Knight was seen driving in circles between parking, lower power, underground parking, and upper power. While making turns to continue this circular path he would randomly be seen yanking on his E-Brake causing his car to make sharp unpredicted turns. One of the turns resulted in him exposing his side profile to the entire pursuit line which directly resulted in a multiple car collision. At this collision it could be heard that the passenger was still alive and talking to Felarx in the trunk of the kamacho.
Throughout the pursuit, Mr. Knight was seen going into incorrect lanes, driving over curbs, and in general showing no regard to himself, his passenger, or the public. There was also multiple times where he drove past MD and could have stopped to get his passenger medical aid.
Finally the thing that got the pursuit to a end was when Mr. Knight attempted another sharp turn right next to underground parking. This maneuver caused him to stall out and units were able to box him in. Mr. Knight knew there was no escape and instead of surrendering so we could get his passenger to MD (about 100 ft away) he decided to pull out the same carbine MK II that i originally saw him with. After Drawing his weapon he opened fire on both nearby deputies and officers causing us to shift our attention from the man in the trunk to Mr. Knight. After neutralizing the treat i quickly ran to the kamacho which is where i witnessed the man in the trunk take his last breath just before being able to get him out. Mr. knight waisted critical moments circling the medical building and opening fire on LEOs where instead a deal could have been made to get his injured out of the car.
After confirming the man in the trunk was dead I read Mr. Knight his rights. After agreeing to his rights i asked about the man in the trunk and he stated that he "didn't know who he was". After telling him that the man in the trunk died because of his actions Mr. Knight then stated "He got what he deserved".
Witness Affirmation
- I, Gavin Sands, affirm that the above statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief. I affirm that this statement has been made voluntarily, made without promise of reward, and made not under threat, force, or coercion. ((I affirm that all information submitted has been obtained via In-Character means.))

ISSUANCE OF VERDICT
IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF SAN ANDREAS
The State of San Andreas v. Felarx Knight
#26-BT-0009
A decision was reached in the above case on the 6th day of February, 2026.
Facts
On January 21st, 2026, the Defendant, Felarx Knight, operated a motor vehicle while an injured individual was confined in the trunk of that vehicle. The Defendant engaged in reckless and negligent driving while evading law enforcement and failed to stop to seek medical assistance despite multiple opportunities to do so. As a result of the Defendant’s negligent operation of the vehicle and failure to render aid, the injured individual died prior to receiving medical treatment.
Arguments From Either Side
The Defense argued that the Prosecution failed to establish intent to kill and asserted that the Defendant’s statements following the incident should not be relied upon to establish guilt. Defense further argued that the death of the individual in the trunk could not be conclusively attributed to the Defendant’s actions.
The Prosecution argued that intent is not a required element under
SF03 – Involuntary or Vehicular Manslaughter, and that the Defendant’s prolonged, reckless conduct, failure to render aid, and deliberate engagement with law enforcement directly caused or substantially contributed to the death of the individual. The Prosecution emphasized that criminal negligence, not intent, is the controlling standard.
Verdict
The Court finds that SF03 – Involuntary or Vehicular Manslaughter does not require proof of intent. The statute clearly criminalizes the killing of another person without intent when caused by negligent conduct, including the negligent operation of a vehicle in violation of road safety laws.
The Court finds that the Defendant’s actions constitute criminal negligence. The Defendant knowingly fled law enforcement with an injured individual confined in the trunk, engaged in prolonged reckless driving, ignored multiple opportunities to seek medical aid, and ultimately chose to engage in a firefight with law enforcement rather than surrendering. These actions directly delayed life-saving intervention and created a foreseeable risk of death.
It is with the above considerations that I issue the following verdict:
- On the count of SF03 - Involuntary or Vehicular Manslaughter, I find the defendant, Felarx Knight, guilty.
Regarding the Defendant’s alleged statement, “He got what he deserved,” the Court notes that while this statement was introduced through witness testimony, it constitutes hearsay and is not relied upon as a basis for establishing guilt. The Court’s finding rests on the Defendant’s observable conduct and physical evidence, independent of any post-incident statements.
