State of San Andreas v. Ottis Jackson
#25-BT-0104
A Motion for Continuance was filed in the above case on the 16th of July, 2025.
The State of San Andreas, by and through the undersigned attorney, filed this Motion for Continuance, and the reasoning for the request is as follows;
- Reasoning: Preparing evidence
- Detailed Explanation: Clerical errors by previous prosecutors have resulted in evidence for the above case not having been gathered. The Prosecution recently discovered the slip-up and has already filed requests with the arresting department to correct the mistake, and is at work gathering the available evidence for this case. As such, the Prosecution is requesting an additional three (3) days to allow law enforcement to provide the correct material and for the Prosecution to provide the discovery on the docket, extending the deadline to Sunday, the 20th of July.

To All Pertaining Parties,
The Defence would like to Object on the grounds that the Prosecution has already had 30 days to make sure that all relevant evidence had been gathered, which we feel is more than enough time to spot any "Clerical Errors" or "slip-up"s. This Continuation could be seen to be in violation of my clients 6th Amendment "Right to a speedy and public trial", as he has already waited 30 days and will have to wait even longer.
The Defence does not believe that the Defendant should have his Constitutional Rights Violated due to negligence of the Prosecution Division, and therefore would like to call for this motion to be denied.
Respectfully,
Private Defence Attorney
