Los Santos: This past Sunday, March 9, the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) successfully apprehended Gabe Ehrmantraut, a high-profile fugitive and the mastermind behind the City Hall bombing. Ehrmantraut has stood behind numerous violent attacks, including bombings and assaults against government personnel. Ehrmantraut has since been executed, marking the end of a brutal reign of terror and serving as a significant victory in the fight against domestic terrorism.
Ehrmantraut was the primary orchestrator of the City Hall bombing on February 23, 2025, a coordinated attack carried out by his terrorist organization The Shadows. The bombing targeted GSB agents with an explosive planted outside the west wing of City Hall. When GSB agents approached, it was remotely detonated, resulting in the deaths of five agents and one civilian. The attack was followed by gunfire from the organization, in a brutal attempt to maximize casualties.
Ehrmantraut had been captured previously, and was awaiting execution on death row at LSSD Sandy Shores Station for his role in the bombing that resulted in multiple fatalities. However, on March 8, 2025, he was freed during a violent prison break carried out by four heavily armed individuals, who also kidnapped an LSPD Detective. Despite efforts by Law Enforcement to thwart the escape, Ehrmantraut managed to flee, prompting a statewide manhunt.
In response to this horrific act, the San Andreas State Government issued Executive Order #12, designating The Shadows as a terrorist group and offering a $1,000,000 bounty for Ehrmantraut’s capture.

LSPD's Detective Bureau (DB) immediately began a detailed investigation, led by Police Detective I Sebastian Knight. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Detective Knight and his team, Ehrmantraut was located on March 9th at 17:00, confirmed to be at Alta Apartments alongside a Shadows member who had helped him escape LSSD custody. By 19:00, less than 24 hours after his escape, a coordinated operation resulted in his arrest, and Ehrmantraut was taken into custody at Vinewood station. During the apprehension, law enforcement seized illegal firearms, explosive devices, and substantial quantities of contraband, delivering a crippling blow to The Shadows' operations.

Police Detective I Sebastian Knight has been recognized by the San Andreas State Government for his exemplary leadership, dedication, and tireless pursuit of justice. Lieutenant Governor Emily Whitehorse had the following statement:

The Government Service Award is a recognition administered by a Director of the San Andreas State Government. This award is bestowed upon officials who have demonstrated great dedication and effort to their bureau(s) and have gone above and beyond their duties and tasks. The award may also be granted to civilians or law enforcement officers by a member of the Board of Governors.
In addition, Detective Knight has been awarded the Detective Recognition Award, one of the highest honors within the LSPD. His efforts were pivotal in ensuring Ehrmantraut’s capture, ensuring no more horrific acts could be carried out by this individual, and bringing justice to the families affected by his criminal acts.
The Los Santos Police Department extends its gratitude to all officers involved in this operation and reaffirms its commitment to protecting the citizens of Los Santos from domestic terrorism and violent crime. The successful capture and execution of Gabe Ehrmantraut marks a critical turning point in ensuring the safety and security of the city.

I had the pleasure of meeting Detective Sebastian Knight during his initial onboarding as a cadet of the Los Santos Police Department, and at the time wished him a well and prosperous career. Little did I know some 25 months later I would be writing a quote for him on a major career defining achievement.
I alongside the other members of the Board of Governors are immensely proud of the dedication shown by Detective Knight and his colleagues of the Major Crimes Division for the quick and speedy capture of Mr. Ehrmantraut after his escape. The LSPD has once again shown to be a formidable force in the tracking and detainment of escaped convicts, similar to the captured the notorious Sophia Falcone.
Having received the case file created by the detective, it is clear that an enormous amount of effort went into this operation, and that Detective Knight was fully dedicated to the mission at hand. Its individuals with this level of passion for solving complex cases that should be rewarded, and I hope that the next generation of police cadets are inspired to join the detective bureau, and put similar passion into all their cases.
Given the extraordinary work of Detective Knight, I have formally decided to issue the Government Service Award ribbon on behalf of the Board of Governors. I wish Detective Knight all the best as he continues his career moving forward.
