2. REQUEST INFORMATION
  • Detailed information of your request:
    • Dear Sir/Madam,

Speedy Refuel is undergoing a research investigation into the safety of boat travel, as compared to other methods of travel. Would the LSPD have any statistics surrounding the use of boats and aqua craft in the commission of crimes for the past year? I appreciate this may be quite specific so may not be tracked, but any insight you could give us on how safe boats are (very) would be helpful.

Oh, also has there every been a reported boat traffic accident in San Andreas?

"TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE"

  • Re: Request for Information [Speedy Refuel]

    Herrman Wolff,

Thank you for your patience on this matter.

Following a review of the statistics and instances documented by the Los Santos Police Department, there is not much to go off of at this time. Given how rarely this occurs, it is indeed not documented beyond mentions where relevant, such as context in documented arrest narratives.

While boats are at times used in the commission of a crime, it does not appear to be a frequent occurrence. In the last four months, there are two documented instances of boats being used in an attempt to evade law enforcement, whereas there are an additional three instances wherein police boats were deployed to apprehend suspects in difficult to reach terrain connected to a body of water or swimming suspects.

With regard to boat safety and reported accidents, we do not have any documented instances of maritime accidents.

  • Respectfully,
