    • I find it utterly baffling how your department has chosen to handle Mike's case in such a questionable manner. A Police Commander - you could also call him a man well-versed in the law and was/is sworn to uphold it, has knowingly committed a crime, repeatedly on several occasions for personal financial benefit. As far as I know, Mike was known for enforcing the penal code to the teeth, but it seems like he was also a master at exploiting it. What is most alarming, however is not just his actions, but the LSPD's announcing their support to Mike, publicly.. despite the overwhelming evidence of his crimes. I'm sorry but this is not a lapse of judgement - this is a clear display of double standards and bias, one that sends a dangerous message to the public. When your department supports a man who manipulated civilians, ones in need of financial support, it begs the question.. Where does the LSPD's loyalty truly lie?

Although the charges against Mike Luigi were mere misdemeanors, the reality of things are far more severe. What one would expect after those charges is an immediate termination from the department. Instead, the LSPD has done exactly the opposite, allowing a man who manipulated the lower class to retain his position of power. The question is, how does a predatory lender remain in your department as a Police Commander? One that, again.. was acting malicious and have manipulated civilians for personal financial benefit? What does this say to the victims of his actions. People lost homes, vehicles and assets. Are you going to compensate those victims? The LSPD's very motto is "To Protect and To Serve." I ask you, what went wrong? How can you possibly still trust Mike Luigi after what he has done? More importantly, how do you expect the public to trust you? Because from the public's perspective, it looks like you shot yourself in the leg.

"TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE"

  • Re: Public Inquiry/Request for Comment [Citizen]

    Deputy Sheriff Lockwood,

If you can make inquiries based on the contents of a Press Release issued by the Los Santos Police Department, then you will have noticed that at the end of that press release, there is a sentence which verbatim reads 'We will be accepting no further public inquiries on this.' but unfortunately, it seems you have been unable or unwilling to exercise your impulse control, Harvey.

The Los Santos Police Department supports the decision of his Honorable Supreme Court Judge Fitzgerald to charge Police Commander Luigi with the three counts of Predatory Lending misdemeanor. By extension though, the Los Santos Police Department also supports an individual that has not only been an excellent public servant in his role as a Law Enforcement Officer for a number of years now and we are unequivocally confident, as the leading Law Enforcement Agency in the State of San Andreas, that Commander Luigi is an individual that while having made these mistakes, can be trusted both externally by the people of this great State but also, internally as a distinguished Officer of the Law.

I feel it is also worth noting, for your benefit or Ms. Claire Allen or in fact any one else that takes an issue with us not hanging Commander Luigi out to dry for this level of infraction, Mike was the driving force behind the changes in Firearms Licensing that allowed for previous Offenders to be able to be Permitted Legal Firearms in the State of San Andreas. I find it somewhat distasteful that there are people that feel that Commander Luigi shouldn't be given an opportunity to redeem himself where appropriate, when he has provided that avenue for so many others.

We judge each situation on it's own individual merits. There was no supporting outcome from the Trial that Commander Luigi used his position within the Los Santos Police Department with any degree of impropriety. Had Commander Luigi been convicted of the Felonies of which he was accused, he would have been terminated by the Los Santos Police Department and we would feel similarly about any further instances, in the unlikely event they would occur.

I would also urge the General Public to wait to hear from the San Andreas Judicial Branch, on what transpired in the Trial before jumping to conclusions based solely on outcomes.

(( This is for anyone reading this. You can feel about the decision(s) In-Character any way that you want, this is an in-character situation but from an Out-Of-Character point of view, consider Mike has been waiting for a year and a half for a resolution to this, which is an incredibly long time with this hanging over him. He was determined to see this through to the end and accept whatever outcome came of it, he didn't moan or complain that potentially he was facing a negative outcome, he embraced it which we could use a little more of in this server, at times. During that entire time, Mike has been one of the most dedicated faction members that we've had in the LSPD and we are not going to abandon that kind of loyalty to satiate some lust for someone getting the boot from PD, unless we absolutely have no choice but to. In this instance, fortunately, we did not have to. ))

As this decision has been taken by the Office of the Chief of the Los Santos Police Department, if you have an issue with this decision, then I suggest you or any one else, direct your complaints to the San Andreas State Governor's Office. Until such time as the Governor's Office decides otherwise, we stand with Commander Luigi.

Once more, now with feeling, no further comments will be made regarding this outcome.
