- 3.1) Why are you interested in becoming a Court Clerk, and how does this role align with your long-term career goals, such as becoming a Judge? (100 word minimum)
- I am interested in becoming a court clerk with the express interest in becoming a judge, to help with not only trials, but also the services that JB provides to Law Enforcement on a regular basis. Having been a consumer of those services for years in both departments Investigation Bureaus, I understand the importance of these requests being looked at in a timely manner.
With regards to trials, I would like to be able to help run bench trials open to the public on a regular date, and provide coverage with both the prosecutors and defense teams.
I believe I can still serve the state, even if my body isn't up to being shot at repeatedly anymore.
3.2) As a Court Clerk, you will handle a significant amount of paperwork, including case logs, legal research, and drafting court documents. How do you manage detailed tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure? (50 word minimum)
- As an Investigator, I had significant amounts of paperwork piling up on a regular basis. I am deeply familar with how the government website works, and the relevant tricks to be notified about replies that may or may not need my review. I also have a my own personal notebooks filled with notes and reminders to follow-up on, which historically has been case files or arrest report inquiries as an SD supervisor.
3.3) Describe a time when you had to work with multiple individuals to achieve a common goal. (75 word minimum)
- As an Investigator, I often worked closely with the Special Enforcement Detail in order to run operations. While the Investigations Bureau lead to the setup of any operation, being able to communicate objectives, risks and priorites to the detail makes the operation run smoothly, so that they know exactly what the bureau needs.
Specifically, this becomes important with search warrants, being able to communicate details about the suspect and known habits allows the team to work at its best. Any further details I would be happy to discuss in person, but the specifics are going to be classifed. Regardless, communication is a key to success.
3.4) Have you previously worked in any capacity that required neutrality and unbiased decision-making? Explain if so.
- Yes. I was an Internal Affairs Investigator for the Sheriff's Department, which required neutrality to evaluate all complaints made against deputies. I handled multiple complaints, and was promoted to handle legal affairs requests as well.
3.5) Are you willing to undergo intensive training and follow strict legal procedures?
- Yes, I am. I have gone through a multiude of training through both departments, and believe I would be ready for anything JB has to offer.
3.6) In your opinion, what qualities make a good Judge? (75 word minimum)
- A good judge is not only impartial, but also available. A Judge should be there to help the community and its needs, not to just sit on a desk. You need to be available not only to the community however, but also to the prosecution and defense teams.
Furthermore, a Judge should be prompt but careful in their judgements. While we want accurate judgments, if they take ages - the judgement is lessened in its impact and does not impart trust to the community.
3.7) How would you handle a situation where you personally disagreed with a law or ruling but had to maintain neutrality in your actions or decisions?
- In law, disagreements happen all the time, whether between the prosecution and defense by design, or between professionals over the minutiae of a law. If the letter of the law does not match the spirit, you can petition the Law Review Committee to make updates. Also, you can always write a dissent professionally, explaining why you disagree with facts to back it up.
The best thing is to remember that we all work together, and one point is not something to get hung up on, and put the work towards the next case and/or docket.
- 4.1) Eclipse Forum Details:
4.2) Are you a member of any factions? If so, which faction and character.
- No, I had recently resigned from the Sheriff's Department which was my most recent faction.
4.3) Have you ever had an admin punishment with this, or any character on Eclipse? If yes, please explain:
- Yes, however they are all from a year+ ago.
The 2023 FRP was from a burgershot incident where I responded alone and got gunned down, instead of waiting for backup.
The 2023 spoken to was about faction chat grumpiness after a long shift.
The 2021 bug abuse was a misunderstaning of the /stabilze script and what I could do while injured.
The 2021 FRP was on a criminal character in drug labs, attempting to flee.
4.4) Please provide an unedited screenshot(s) of the Eclipse game panel with your 'Admin Logs' and 'My Character' sections.
