Why do you want to join the San Andreas Department of Corrections?
As a young kid growing up, I had a neighbor across the street who was a Correctional Officer for the county jail. The memory I have of him was a very professional and clean cut man who seemed to love his career. One time I asked him how much money he makes doing that job. He looked at me and said, "It doesn't matter kid, all that matters is that I like my job and I'm keeping the creeps away from you". From then on, I always had a desire to become a Correctional Officer myself. It may sound silly to some people, but my neighbor left a long lasting impression on me that still stands to this day. As a now grown man, I understand being a Correctional Officer requires great responsibility. A responsibility that can affect the lives of others. This is something that I have researched very heavily, and something that intrigues me to no other. I say this because the Correctional Officer has the opportunity to change an inmates life for the better or for the worst, I believe having a positive attitude towards the inmates and giving them a sense of hope is important because it could be a deciding factor on whether or not they choose to go back to the life of crime, or perhaps change their ways and keep their nose clean. This is something I find very inspiring. The idea of being able to have a positive impact on someones life who is going through a rough time is a great responsibility to have in my opinion.
Lastly, to contrast my last statement it is very important to me to keep criminals off of our streets. It is no secret that we currently have a serious gang problem right now. While it is easy to look down on these folks, I think it is important to understand that it is in fact possible to change these young men and women for the better. The first steps begin while they are incarcerated. And it starts with the Correctional Officer. This is something I am ready to take on, and can not wait for the day I am finally able to do so!

What qualifications do you have that would be an asset to us?
I currently hold a valid gun license, drivers license, and truckers license. While they do seem quite simple and basic, which they are. I think they are important and necessary. I think all employers would appreciate these qualifications as they would surely come in handy at one point or another. Additionally, in the Marine Corps, I qualified every year as an expert marksman. While I understand, "shooting" is not an every day activity inside of a prison, I do think it is important to have the knowledge and understanding on how firearms work.
In addition to my marksmanship qualifications, I also graduated from Boot Camp at the top of my class. This consisted of 13 weeks of pure hell. Nothing but constant physical and mental torture as a recruit in the USMC. While this was 9 years ago, it is something that has stuck with me and something I will carry with me for the remainder of my life.

Have you any military of law enforcement history?
Yes I do. As previously mentioned, I served four years in the United States Marine Corps as a Motor Vehicle Operator as well as a Range Coach. I served one combat deployment to the middle east. In garrison, I served as a range coach, which consisted of me giving a refresher course to my fellow Marines when it was time to re-qualify on the range. I think the DOC may find this useful if you ever do range qualifications and need someone to help out.
Additionally, I am currently employed by a small start up company named "Genesis Private Military Contracting". This is a very small company that has just recently began operating. While we are not official military, we do operate very similar to the police/ military in terms of rank structure, leadership, and delegation of authority. I believe this is something that would allow me to easily transition to the world of corrections.

Have you ever been convicted of a crime?
I have never been convicted of a crime. I pride myself in living a clean and crime free lifestyle. The only thing you may find on my record is an old archive of paid parking tickets.

Why should we hire you over anyone else? (Minimum 100 words).
I believe hiring me would be the best decision due to my military background, my strong work ethic, and my passion for corrections and community enrichment. I believe having an employee who is a veteran of the armed forces is a priceless asset to your department for many reasons. One reason being is that veterans/ service members know how to handle themselves in stressful situations. You will not have to worry about a veteran/service member crumbling when things get stark in the prison. This is something that we have learned during day one of boot camp.
Another great attribute that veterans hold is knowing how to conduct themselves in a professional matter. This is something that seems very hard to find these days in our city. Having military bearing is something that holds value even outside of the military because it shows a sense of self confidence and fearlessness, I believe this is especially important when dealing with hardened inmates, specifically the members of gangs, or those who are serving time for violent crimes.
Additionally, due to my military service, I have great experience in dealing with people who do not like you (me), and may even want to kill you (me). While this is a strange "skill" or "experience" to hold, it is something I believe is important to be aware of and understand. Many inmates would not mind to see a Correctional Officer badly hurt or harmed in some sort of way. It is important to be aware of this and hold a strong sense of situational awareness and have a positive mental attitude at all times. This is something I have developed early on in my Military career and is something I would carry over to my career as a Correctional Officer.
Lastly, I am a down to earth man who simply wants to serve the city I was raised in. I think there is no better way to this than to serve as a Correctional Officer in San Andreas. This gives me the opportunity to have a positive impact on many inmates lives and possibly get them moving in the right direction. This is something I am looking forward to greatly if I am afforded the chance to become a Correctional Officer and truly can not wait to get started!
