Los Santos: Robberies can occur at any place and at any time of day. Many people have ended up being the victims of such crimes - while the Los Santos Police Department is always doing its best to ensure the safety of each and every citizen in the city and State there is always a chance you might find yourself in similar situation. In most cases, criminals approach their victim as a group and try to insert the element of fear by outnumbering them and brandishing weapons to coerce their victim. It's worth mentioning that while these individuals are only looking to steal your personal belongings, but they are not afraid to use violence if they see resistance.
With that said, your safety always comes first so it is suggested that you comply with their demands to prevent them from physically harming you. As soon as you have the chance to safely reach for your phone contact 911 - make sure to provide detailed descriptions of the suspects such as; their outfits, any visible tattoos, gang affiliation, vehicles, and license plates. Once you make the call, our Officers will make sure to respond as soon as possible and do their best to apprehend the suspects.
Alternatively, you can also file a crime report if you feel like you have enough evidence and the members of the Detective Bureau will open a case and start an investigation. Our crime report form can be found here.
Avoiding the likely
Being aware of your surroundings is imperative to remaining safe. Staying out of areas that are closed off, have no lighting, have a high crime rate, or are hotspots for illegal activities will keep you out of a lot of trouble. Do not traverse or enter areas you are not familiar with during night time and be mindful that not everyone is your friend.
Firearms and Personal Safety
In the state of San Andreas, citizens are allowed to obtain a weapons license and legally purchase a firearm as long as they meet the requirements. You can read more about that here.
Keep in mind that having a firearm does not mean you should always confront the suspect(s) as it may result in a fatal or tragic incident. Needless to say, your priority should be your own safety and not your personal belongings.
