Posted: 01 Nov 2024, 19:52
Introduction
October has come to a close, bringing cooler weather, autumn colors, and festive spirit to the San Andreas State Government! This past month, we leaned into the Halloween season while staying focused on our mission to serve the community with meaningful initiatives. We also stood united with the fight against breast cancer for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, supporting those affected and raising awareness for prevention.
With Halloween celebrations behind us and a look toward the year’s end, our bureaus are hard at work on several projects to benefit the community. Be on the lookout for new announcements, and don’t miss the seasonal events coming up! Without further ado, here’s a look at what we accomplished in October at SASG!

Appointement of DoED Deputy Director

Mr. Cox initially joined the Department of Economic Development on February 9, 2020, and served with distinction until his resignation on March 17, 2024. During his four-year term, Mr. Cox contributed across all bureaus of government, with a particular focus on the Property and Housing Bureau and the San Andreas Aviation Administration. His efforts were instrumental in the implementation of various developmental and regulatory strategies aimed at enhancing both sectors.
Building on his exemplary service, Mr. Cox was appointed Chief of Operation on May 29, 2023, where he continued to demonstrate his commitment to operational efficiency, strategic oversight, and public service. His leadership was critical in managing key projects and fostering inter-agency collaboration.
Now, in his new role as Deputy Director, Mr. Cox will bring his wealth of experience, leadership, and innovative approach to the Department of Economic Development. His return signals a renewed focus on advancing economic initiatives, fostering growth, and implementing policies that will benefit the entire state of San Andreas.
"We are thrilled to have Mr. Cox back in a leadership capacity," said a Governor Lewis Langley. "His proven track record of success and his commitment to the state’s economic welfare make him an ideal choice for this pivotal role. We are confident that under his leadership, the department will continue to thrive and support the long-term economic goals of our state."
The SASG extend their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Tyrone Cox on his appointment and look forward to the continued success and growth that his leadership will inspire.
Government Spotlight: Meet the Team Behind the Scenes
In this new section, we’re excited to highlight the hard-working individuals who make a difference in the San Andreas Government. Each edition, we will introduce you to a government official whose efforts have left a lasting impact. We believe it's important to showcase those who bring fresh perspectives and energy to our team. The San Andreas Government thrives because of dedicated individuals like them, and we hope this inspires more people to join us in making a difference.
For this first edition, we proudly present Julia Ashwin, a rising star within the San Andreas Aviation Administration (SAAA).
Julia Ashwin joined the SAAA on September 2, 2024, following a successful application. In a short time, she made her mark and quickly rose through the ranks, being promoted to Government Official on September 14, 2024, and then to Government Senior Official on October 12, 2024. Her rapid progression is a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Director Gordon Graves had high praise for her accomplishments:
"The Administration and the public have benefitted in a number of ways since Ms. Ashwin joined us in August of 2024. One of her greatest accomplishments thus far has been the completion of our internal fixed-wing handbook. Despite only having a bare-bones draft to work with, she worked intensely to flesh it out and completed the task in a mere two weeks. Without her, civilian testing of fixed-wing flight school likely would have been pushed back to Q2 2025 if not later.
Moving on from the aforementioned fixed-wing documentation, she has also been an invaluable asset in suggesting improvements for and the addition of multiple internal policies. These new ideas have greatly elevated our capabilities and have benefitted us in many ways.
I'm excited to see Ms. Ashwin's continued success. Her admirable work ethic and the creativity she brings to the Administration is invaluable. I speak with complete confidence when I say that she will continue to strengthen our capabilities as she takes on new projects and responsibilities."
Julia herself reflected on her role and her passion for teaching:
"My day-to-day mostly revolves around dealing with applications and offering flight school lessons to students. I've always had a keen interest in teaching and helping others, especially with something I am personally interested in. As of now, I am also directly involved in the fixed-wing expansion project and some other more minor projects. I personally enjoy the freedom I have in being able to undertake different tasks at my own pace. It really gives me the space to breathe and work on what matters most to me.
And for anyone out there who's wondering if a job is right for you, you'll never know till you try. So give it a shot!"

The updated ATP now spans approximately three weeks and includes an in-depth onboarding process, three comprehensive training sessions, and both written and practical evaluations. These enhancements have already yielded notable improvements in agent performance and field readiness. We are committed to refining this program over time, ensuring that GSB remains a leader in security excellence and that our agents are prepared for any scenario they may encounter.
