  • Detailed information of your request:
    • Heya, with the new changes in ride-along requirements, allowing ex-felons to have a shot, will you ever consider opening up apply-able citizen positions for those with a criminal record who have shown they are reformed.

Especially with the new ex-felon applications regarding SAGOV, I would love to see more opportunities for Ex-Felons to be treated the same as any other member of society.

"TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE"

  • Re: Public Inquiry [Citizen]

Thank you for submitting this public inquiry.

Discussions surrounding the reformation of former felons have occurred, albeit in passing between Department brass, and not in any formal setting, both from a perspective of civilian employment and police officer employment.

While no current formal procedure for civilian employee recruitment exists, the recruitment thereof is done on a case-by-case basis which leaves more room for consideration of previous criminal history and whether it should bar them from employment with the Los Santos Police Department.

Keeping that in mind and considering that most civilian employee positions have limited access to information, a separate employee manual, and do not have access to sensitive information through the mobile data computer, employment opportunities for reformed individuals are not farfetched as far as civilian employment with the Department is concerned.

Touching on the general opening of these positions, it is planned in the future but requires further deliberation by Command Staff, especially with respect to duties and responsibilities of a civilian employee, in roles that are also interesting to work in, experience, and would retain prospective employees long-term.

  • Respectfully,

Thank you for your answer,
I do hope this becomes a more integrated part of the LSPD and more formal meetings are held about this in the future.

Praise Flarg,
Albert
