2. REQUEST INFORMATION
Detailed information of your request:
Here are my questions
1. Why does the LSPD need to offer a $50,000 bonus to new officers? Are there any other measures being considered to stop this staffing crisis?
2. Are the YearOverYear recruitment numbers down?
3. Looking at the government website, I have seen several officers move to the sheriff department. What is the LSPD doing to retain these skilled officers?
Thank you

Re: Public Inquiry (Citizen)
The Los Santos Police Department does not 'need' to offer new hires a bonus as described. It instead serves the purpose of a gesture and initiative that was decided upon in an annual time of general slowdown in all aspects, as a potential incentive for recruits.
Recruitment numbers may be made available in the annual "year in review" press release, but have not yet been tallied and thus cannot be provided at the time of this request.
Employees of LSPD wishing to transfer to LSSD do so for various reasons, many of which are personal or involve personal relationships or environmental preferences. Such transfers, while unfortunate in terms of employment rate, are encouraged, as officers should seek employment where they feel most comfortable or satisfied, or opportunity for personal and professional development. It should be of no concern so long as the law is enforced and safety upheld, irrespective of badge type worn or uniform color.
The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department has shown strenuous effort and dedication to their long-term recruitment, and we are elated to see their agency expand. Employee transfers or decisions of employment with LSPD versus LSSD and vice versa are never a matter of "us versus them", as both agencies serve the same goal and purpose within the State.
