    • Katie Pure was seen at Bayview parking lot in her vehicle, intentionally backing up with speed into Scottie Cross on the 12/09/2024. She was the driver in her Itali GTO. Scottie sustained serious injuries and was transported to Paleto MD to receive medical treatment.

  Witness Statement

  • I was positioned at Bayview on the 12th of September, 2024 with the explicit purpose of watching Katie Pure, at the time Deputy Sheriff within our Department. My role was to watch Katie Pure and no one else.
    I was sat in Bayview directly to the left of her as she sat in her vehicle to my right, this was done so purposefully as I did not have any obstructions blocking my view of her.
    Whilst sat at Bayview, I witnessed first hand Katie Pure reverse her vehicle into Scottie Cross, resulting in serious injuries. I placed the charge Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon after witnessing this assault of Scottie Cross with her vehicle, which resulted in his hospitalisation. There was a threat of bodily harm in her actions, she used her vehicle to reverse into him, and she hurt him so badly that he went to hospital.
    This was just seconds after Scottie Cross ran his hand on her car doors. Katie Pure did not leave her vehicle to come to aid. Other individuals on scene helped Scottie to MD.
    We interrogated Katie Pure on the 4th of October 2024, she was read her rights and I questionned her. Here is a transcript of the portion of the interrogation which was directly involving her assault of Scottie:

    "Louise Hoffman: I see, and finally, have you ever hurt or injured anybody outside of the line of duty?
    Katie Pure: Well, I did hit my friend Scottie Cross, with a car one time. And it was reported in sadly. I wish I had known better as he's done that to me too, I think we were both just goofing a bit but it's totally not okay.
    Louise Hoffman: I see, well, it is 3:46PM and that is the end of my questions. Is there anything you wish to state for the record before we debrief?
    Katie Pure: Not that I know of."

Due to a lack of response from the defendant in the above case, the case will now be accepting the plea of guilty from the defendant. The defendant was given ample time to interact with the courts and file availability. If any of the dates and times did not align with the schedule of the defendant, they were able to contact the courts stating the like.
