San Andreas State Government Ethical Pledge
In an unprecedented display of unity and commitment, the Governors and Board of Governors of the San Andreas State Government have officially signed the San Andreas State Government Ethical Pledge, affirming their dedication to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, accountability, and public service.
The Ethical Pledge represents a formal commitment to principles such as honesty, impartiality, respect for life, and the safeguarding of public trust—core tenets that guides the actions and decisions of the state’s leadership. Signed by Governor Lewis Langley, Governor Samuel Osborn, and Governor Jason Castillo, along with distinguished members of the Board of Governors, this pledge underscores the San Andreas Government’s unwavering dedication to the people it serves.
Aligned with the state governments newly introduced slogan, "Serving the People, Building the Future," the pledge serves as a powerful expression of shared values and a clear statement that the future of San Andreas will be built on the foundation of integrity and accountability.
Governor Lewis Langley wrote:We stand here united by a common purpose—serving the people of San Andreas with honor, integrity, and transparency, By signing this Ethical Pledge, we reaffirm our collective responsibility to act in the best interest of the citizens of the state. We will continue to establish a legacy of ethical leadership that will continue to be cemented at every level of government, inspiring confidence and trust in those we serve. It is our hope this initiative will alleviate concerns and show our commitment to being to an open, honest, and accountable government.
General Staff to Join the Initiative:
With the signing of the pledge by the Governors and the Board of Governors, the San Andreas State Government has now initiated the next phase of this transformative endeavor: extending the pledge to all members of the general staff. Over the coming weeks, government officials will be invited to join this initiative, ensuring that every member of the SASG, at every level, is aligned with the values enshrined in the pledge.

The Pledge:This Formal agreement is entered into as of the date signed between the employee and the San Andreas State Government:
As a condition of my employment in a position of public trust within the San Andreas State Government, I commit myself to the following obligations, which I understand are binding upon me, and I recognize that this pledge is an integral component to sustain public trust in government. I understand this pledge may be periodically updated to reflect new standards, and notice will be given when a change is made.
I commit to conducting myself in accordance with this pledge, making decisions based on their merits and solely in the public interest, without consideration for personal gain or advantage.
I am dedicated to making ethical decisions regarding post-government employment, ensuring that my actions do not create the appearance of having used my government service for personal benefit. This includes avoiding the misuse of confidential information and relationships established during my tenure for the advantage of future clients.
I commit myself to the following additional obligations, which I understand are binding on me and are enforceable under law or civil penalty:

I will prioritize the interests of the citizens of San Andreas above personal or partisan interests, ensuring that all my actions serve the public good.
I will faithfully execute the responsibilities of my position, striving to enhance the well-being, safety, and prosperity of all citizens.

I will conduct myself with honesty and integrity in all interactions, ensuring that my actions reflect the highest ethical standards.
I will be truthful in all communications, reports, and representations made in my official capacity.
Transparency and Openness
I will promote transparency in government by providing timely and accurate information to the public and ensuring that government activities are conducted openly and transparently.
Accountability
I will be accountable for my actions and decisions, recognizing that I am responsible to the people of San Andreas for my conduct.
I will ensure that resources and funds entrusted to me are used efficiently, effectively, and for their intended purposes.
Impartiality and Fairness
I will treat all individuals and groups fairly and equitably, without discrimination or favoritism other than the extent permitted by law or civil regulation.
I will base decisions on merit, fairness, and the law, free from undue influence or bias.
Conflicts of Interest
I will avoid and disclose any conflicts of interest, real or perceived, that may compromise my ability to act impartially and in the best interests of the public.
I will recuse myself from decisions or actions where I have a personal or financial interest that could influence my judgment.
Respect and Professionalism
I will treat colleagues, constituents, and all individuals with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
I will foster a work environment that is inclusive, supportive, and free from harassment and discrimination.
Confidentiality
I will protect confidential information entrusted to me, using it only for its intended purpose and not for personal gain or advantage.
I will respect the privacy rights of individuals and safeguard sensitive information. Including information I am privy to be not authorized to distribute.
Lawfulness
I will uphold the Constitution and laws of the State of San Andreas, ensuring that my actions comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
I will advocate for the rule of law and the fair and just application of all laws.
I pledge to uphold the independence of law enforcement and to avoid any improper interference with the investigative or prosecutorial decisions of the San Andreas Judicial Branch.

Duty to Preserve Life
I will prioritize the preservation of life and safety in all circumstances. If I encounter someone wounded or in medical distress, and it is safe to administer basic life support (BLS), I will do so to the best of my ability.
In the event of no immediate response from emergency services (911), I will take responsibility and safely transport the injured individual to the nearest medical facility, such as Pillbox Hill Medical Center, to ensure timely care.
