Recent Surge in Residential Burglaries

Los Santos: Over the past week, there have been 17 arrests in relation to burglaries and home invasions. This is in addition to multiple reports of unsuccessful attempts, as well as yet-unsolved cases where the thieves have evaded charges or capture. A majority of these burglaries seem to be concentrated in the northern suburbs of the city, in Rockford and Vinewood Hills as well as Mirror Park.

In light of this apparent influx of home invasions across Los Santos, the LSPD would like to remind civilians to stay vigilant and take precautions to protect yourself, others, and your property. In most cases, these thieves aren't out to hurt anyone, but will do so if someone gets between them and their objective. If you do find yourself with a hostile individual in your house, here are some steps you can take to increase your chance of making it out unharmed:
  • Find a safe place to hide
  • CALL 911 and give the dispatcher your house address, along with your current location inside the house
  • Do NOT attempt to make contact with the individual; stay hidden. Your safety is more important than your belongings
  • If the intruder finds you, comply with their demands. The police are on their way
  • Attempt to stay on the line with 911 at all times
  • When Police arrive, stay calm, do not make any sudden movements or run towards them, and keep your hands visible
Further control measures can be taken to keep you and your family safe. Consider installing more locks or security cameras around your premises slowing down the thieves and allowing more time for law enforcement to show up and apprehend the suspect. The most frequently stolen items include electrical appliances, jewelry, clothing, weaponry, and cash, so store these in a safe location.

Stay safe, and don't put yourself in unwanted danger and call 911 at any indication of an intruder. If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to reach out with any relevant questions.
