Los Santos: After each month, supervisory personnel of the Los Santos Police Department conduct a thorough review of officer statistics within their divisions and nominate those who have shown significant dedication to the Department based on statistics such as duty hours, individual performances within divisions, administrative efforts, and above all, their embodiment of the values that the Department holds dear.
The title of "Officer of the Month" is distinguished and is awarded to officers who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, outstanding performance, and unrivaled professionalism in the line of duty, and who through their steadfast commitment to the communities and the pursuit of justice, embody the very essence of the core values of the Department, where excellence is not just another word, but the backbone on which our law enforcement philosophy is built.
This month, we shine a light on, commend, and salute Detective I Edward Linton for his exceptional efforts, dedication, and achievements, recognizing not only the invaluable contributions he made to his respective divisions and the Department, but to the wider city. Detective Linton has been voted Officer of the Month for April 2024.
Detective Linton was nominated by Lieutenant II Johnathan Willowick, who served as Linton's commanding officer throughout his tenure within the Major Crimes Division. Lieutenant Willowick had the following to say about Detective Linton in his nomination.
Detective Linton first transferred to the Los Santos Police Department on August 9th, 2023, when he enrolled in an expedited rendition of the Field Training Program. No less than four days later, on August 13th, he was promoted to Police Officer I and assigned as a patrol officer of the Vespucci Patrol Division. Linton continued his service within the Vespucci division, eventually advancing to Police Officer II on October 11th, 2023. He then furthered his career with the Department by applying and becoming a training officer, an assignment that made him responsible for the training of recruit officers fresh out of the police academy. As a training officer, Linton advanced to Police Officer III on December 19th, 2023.
As a senior officer, Linton explored his areas of passion within the Department, after which he was onboarded as a Detective Trainee and enrolled in the Detective Training Program on February 26th, 2024. He successfully completed the training program and was promoted to Detective I on April 3rd, 2024. Linton started as a Robbery-Homicide Detective within the Major Crimes Division, but quickly took an interest in the Gang and Narcotics Division. Today, he serves as a Gang Detective with the Gang and Narcotics Division.
The Department finds it important to acknowledge the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of our officers amidst the daily challenges and responsibilities. In that, we would like to give honorable mentions to Detective I Zoey Deul, and Police Officer III Leo Larson.

Lieutenant II Johnathan Willowick, Commanding Officer, Major Crimes Division wrote: Detective Linton has been putting in amazing shift hours and good paperwork contributions. Throughout the month, he has put in 252 hours on shift, while contributing 98 pieces of paperwork on the government website.
