Los Santos: On April 20th, Gang and Narcotics Division and Metropolitan Division officers were assisting the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department with an ongoing situation. There was a gathering of vehicles spotted around Elysian Island, with multiple individuals having been identified as possessing firearms.

Upon challenging this gathering, a pursuit was initiated on a green Vapid Scout that attempted to flee. Within five minutes of the pursuit, the suspect vehicle headed into the parking lot adjacent to Dutch London Street and Autopia Parkway. As the suspect vehicle passed through the parking lot, armed assailants, some clad in body armor and armed with class 2 firearms, opened fire on the pursuing police units, which resulted in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS).

A shootout took place between the assailants and law enforcement. During the shootout, the assailants sustained several fatalities but fortunately, no incident bystanders were harmed. Several members of law enforcement sustained gunshot wounds which proved to be non-fatal during this particular exchange. Officers struck by gunfire were treated at a local hospital and later released.

A total of seven suspects were involved in the shooting. Three of the suspects were arrested on the scene of the OIS and transported to the Department of Corrections, where they began serving their sentences. The other four suspects were pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to their injuries.
