LIFE-SAVING AWARD
"The Police Life-Saving Medal is an award for bravery, usually awarded to officers for taking action in order to rescue or attempt the rescue of either a fellow officer or any person from imminent danger."

Los Santos: Today, we recognize the bravery, dedication, and passion that Police Officer I Felix Solomons has shown to the citizens of Los Santos and their colleagues during a perilous and cowardly attack on the Mission Row Community Police Station.

On the morning of the 26th of February 2024, at approximately 10:30, a large number of gang members known as "Only The Family" opened fire on an officer outside our Mission Row Community Police Station. Around seven police units attended the situation, returning fire towards the suspects. A shootout subsequently followed, which lasted for around 10 minutes in total. Unfortunately, three officers were killed in the line of duty, with three or four more severely injured, who are stable and on their way towards a speedy recovery.

This was a deadly, unwarranted, and cowardly act of violence against peace officers trying to conduct their duties in keeping the City of Los Santos safe for our citizens. Despite the extraordinary circumstances, Officer Solomons, under fire, was able to bring three critically injured officers to a safe location. His quick actions immediately gave each of these three officers the life-saving treatment they needed until the situation was under control, stabilizing their condition until further medical services could be provided.

Police Commander Steve Smyth wrote:Thanks to the bravery of Officer Solomons, three officers' lives at the immediate scene were saved, including myself. During the chaos, under extreme pressure and consistent shots fired, Officer Solomons saved myself, Officer Murphy Azalaea, and Cadet Andrew Reings from imminent death, providing BLS and dragging everyone inside Mission Row to safety. We lost 2 or 3 officers in this situation, and it would almost certainly have been three more if not for his actions at the time.
Police Officer I Felix Solomons joined the Department last month on January 14th, 2024 as part of Academy #250. He was recently promoted to his current rank on February 19th, joining the Mission Row Patrol Division. In this short tenure, Officer Solomons has shown himself to be strong, resourceful, and calm under pressure. His actions on this day further cement these traits and serve as a role model for the Department, showing a bright future in his career.

The Life-Saving Award now bestowed upon Officer Solomons showcases his unstaggering commitment to the safety and welfare of his fellow officers while under extreme duress. On behalf of the Los Santos Police Department, we thank you for your exemplary service.
