Narrative:
I parked my vehicle in parking garage underneeth the LSPD Mission row and when I drove away I was stopped by LSPD and detained for attempting to steal a car. Unfortunately I was arrested for threspassing. While I was not told to leave and there were no signs or obsticles informing me that the place is not a public area and no signs. I was not even asked to leave which I would comply if I was told I am trespasssing. Also I was charged with vandalism with no proof what so ever (I found out only after being released from jail and wasnt told by the officers either).

  • Detailed Explanation: In correspondence between the Prosecution and Public Defense Division, the Defense confirmed they have not had any contact with the defendant since 22/JUL/2024, a total of 24 days. Due to this, the Prosecution is requesting the case be dismissed.

  The defense would like to bring precedence from #22-CM-0072, State of San Andreas v. Hassan Readick.

  Judge Mason wrote: "Had this initial contact not been made, I would likely be dismissing this case in favor of the prosecution due to previous precedent, however, as the defendant's wishes have been made known to the defense and the defense has made meaningful communication with the defendant, I will not be dismissing the case on those grounds."

  Initial contact has been made with the defendant and just because the court system is slow doesn't mean the defendant shouldn't have a trial.

  While the Defense has quoted part of a decision by Chief Justice Mason, said quote is from a case nearly two (2) years old, and in reference to initial contact between the defendant and counsel, not current policies.
  
  From the Criminal Court Filing Information:

  [...]you are encouraged to actively engage and maintain open communication with your attorney. You are responsible for staying informed about the progress of your case, attending necessary meetings, and promptly responding to communications from your attorney.
