Message from the Chief Justice

  • Chief Justice Judith Mason
    Citizens of San Andreas,

The holiday season is upon us!

Even with average temperatures barreling towards the single digits and the inevitable snowfall on the horizon, we at the Judicial Branch are stoking the fires over at City Hall so the doors of justice can remain open for all those seeking shelter from the cold, so to speak.

The month of November has brought forth continued development of some of the internal guidelines and procedures that we have been employing within the various services that we offer. Several of our internal subdivisions such as the Bar Association and Training & Hiring have been expanding on their duties and responsibilities to ensure these programs are running smoothly and effectively. As you may see within this newsletter, we have also increased our Public Relations Division, bringing on more members to the team to draft press releases, create content for these newsletters, and help plan events for the public to participate in.

Within the coming weeks, you will become aware of a few changes to the court system that we are currently in the process of implementing, such as indictment cases initiated by the Prosecution Division as well as changes to the Bar Association to facilitate the growth of private practice within the state. We believe that these necessary changes will relieve some of the burden that has been previously placed by these systems and will better serve all those making contact with the court.

As a last note, I would like to say that during this upcoming month, the Judicial Branch will be placing a heavier focus on auditing the systems we have in place and turning our focus towards redevelopment as we close out the year. That is not to say that our normal functions will be interrupted per se, however, some delay may be expected due to an emphasis on strengthening our core systems as well as the availability of our personnel given the holidays coming in just a few short weeks. We thank you for your continued support!

In any case, I thank you for reading this message and I hope you enjoy this upcoming holiday season!

Prosecution Employee of the Month

Prosecution Employee of the Month
  • For the month of November Attorney General Hope Kant would like to recognize Al Triton as the Prosecution Divisions Employee of the Month.

    • Prosecuting Paralegal Al Triton
Attorney General Hope Kant wrote:The Prosecution Division may be small, but within our division we house some of the hardest working employees in the State. While all Prosecutors and Prosecuting Paralegals work hard each week, we'd like to especially thank Paralegal Al Triton. Each week he helps both myself and the Prosecutors of my division to draft motions, search warrants, plea agreements, etc. Without Paralegal Triton, the paperwork would simply be overwhelming.

Regardless of whether he's putting in hours on duty or off duty, he's always willing to provide help and an assessment on cases. I am so personally thankful for Paralegal Triton and all the work that he does. While he may claim it's all "a part of his job", I recognize the quality and effort he puts into everything and can definitively state it goes above and beyond the call of duty.
