Message from the Chief Justice

  • Chief Justice Judith Mason
    Citizens of San Andreas,

The month of June has been one of the more strenuous months for the Judicial Branch in recent history. As you may have seen within our Notice Board, several resignations have been received and accepted, leaving the Prosecution Division with only a few members to manage the criminal caseload on behalf of the State of San Andreas. More importantly, the resignation of the Attorney General has left a vacancy in the highest authority of criminal prosecution in our state.

I can, however, assure you that even with these resignations and vacancy, I have been working with Judicial Branch Command to create a plan of action that will help to ensure the Prosecution Division remains a strong division dedicated to serving the citizens of San Andreas in the name of justice. Within the coming days, you will see a number of changes in divisional leadership that I have no doubt will be for the betterment of the Judicial Branch and to the state as a whole.

While the details of this plan will not be released quite yet, we do plan on issuing a press release within the next week to outline all of the details of this restructuring and I have full confidence that the soon-to-be-appointed Attorney General will uphold the rule of law and keep accountable all those who seek to violate the laws of our great state.

Division Spotlight

Public Notary Division
  • The Public Notary Division is one of many specialized divisions we have within the Judicial Branch. It is currently ran by the Director of Public Relations Hope Kant who was appointed into her position this month. The division is tasked with Contract Authenticity and Civil Partnerships.

Within the Office of Contract Authenticity, the Judicial Branch employees who oversee this are tasked with drafting, reviewing, revising, and of course authenticating contracts pertaining to everything from a private car sale to employment contracts for government agencies. We can not stress enough how important it is to authenticate contracts through the Public Notary. A quote from the recent Los Santos Police Department press release reads "If a contract is not validated by the Judicial Branch through this program, then we do not recognize it as legally binding, and if no such contract was written for the deal, we will not guarantee investigating the fraud." Everyday we get individuals who reach out to us because they were scammed going through a private sell or agreement process, when asked if they have a authenticated contract through the public notary, the majority of the time, they do not, and therefore there is little we can do to assist them without a contract being available.

The Public Notary Division also assists with Civil Partnerships. This program is so individuals may legally get married and have that marriage recognized by the state. Furthermore, this program also allows for divorces. Having this program allows for easy transition should a divorce happen, we take into consideration disputed martial assets, spousal support or alimony, joint debt, and children born or adopted during the marriage. Soon, the Public Notary Division will also offer courses to become ordained within the state so those who wish can officiate weddings.

To conclude, the Judicial Branch is very proud of what we have accomplished through the Public Notary Division being able to offer citizens of the state these programs. We are confident that the new director will continue to build the division and push it to new heights.

    Citizens of San Andreas,

As we move into July summer is fully upon us, we see citizens driving around in their convertables, having parties, hanging out at the beach, and just enjoying the weather all around. We want to remind everyone that as you are enjoying yourself this summer, drink responsibility, the sun and alcohol is one dangerous cocktail. Furthermore, don't drink and drive, one bad mistake can cause of lifetime or regret and grief for many people, drive sober, or get pulled over.

We hope everyone stays safe and enjoys all of the events July has to offer, we will see you next month.
