  • Detailed information of your request:
    • Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a quick question just for clarity surrounding a topic I thought of today. I have a revoked firearms license and felonies on my record. If I was in a romantic partnership with an individual, and they moved into my house with me, could they legally store their weapon in the house in a safe?

My confusion comes from that in this state, we only have single registrants on house deeds, so it would only show me as the owner, even if they lived there permanently and thus their gun would be in my property. If this is not possible, does the LSPD know of the best practise in such a partnership conundrum?

      Thanks,
      Herrman Wolff

    Mr Wolff,

Please see the below message from FLD command as an answer to your first question.
FLD Command wrote: A firearms license holder cannot store their firearm within a property of another individual that does not also hold a valid firearms license.
As for the second part, individuals in such a situation will have to find other means of storage that satisfies the requirements put forth in the firearms licensing application guidelines.

Hopefully this answers your query. Please inform us of any further questions. This thread will remain open for 24 hours.

    With regards,
