Becoming an EMT

Why join the LSEMS? How do I join and where do I start? Where can this career take me? | Let's answer some of these, as you never know, LSEMS might just be the place for you. The LSEMS is a core part of Los Santos, and without it where would we be? There would be more injuries for sure. The LSEMS work alongside other services such as PD, DOC, SD and others and we are happy to work alongside them. Being within MD is about having the understanding that, when you are here, you are going to be developing yourself in many different aspects, whether it is your skillset, improving your weaknesses, new knowledge, new friends or even fresh experiences. The LSEMS has so much to offer to many different types of people as we have a variety of opportunities that you can take. Among our many divisions you can broaden your skillset and also put it to good use. Where to start... go to our Recruitment Desk and put in your fabulous application to begin. From there your journey will begin as an EMR where you will learn all of the knowledge needed to become an EMT, this ranges from basic life support all the way to dealing with intense calls and working alongside other services. We pride ourselves in having amazing field training officers to ensure new EMRs get the best start here!

EMTs have 4 ranks that each "unlock" more divisions as well as receiving more responsibility in the department. We see all EMTs develop their knowledge the further they go, from EMT Basic to Master EMT. An EMT Basic is expected to have a sturdy foundation of all knowledge from their training and be able to put it into practice. They also have this time to further there knowledge and begin the route to mastering all aspects of an EMT. As an EMT Intermediate, the doors open for more divisions that they can join and start to find a real passion for where they can discover new skills and attributes. EMT Advanced are an EMT who are expected to truly understand all aspects and values of being on the field and being able to pass on knowledge to EMT Basics that are just starting out. Master EMTs will have mastered the field and their learning will only come from pushing further. It is at this point in their career they will decide on either sticking with the EMT position or pushing for supervisor and becoming a wise leader.
