- Chumash Bank Robbery Intercepted in Joint LSSD and LSPD Operation
- On April 19th, members of the Special Enforcement Detail and the Sheriff's Investigation Bureau coordinated with METRO SWAT, and the Detective Bureau to stop an ongoing bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank located in Chumash. The operation was a success with all nine suspects being detained and arrested for their crimes.
Members of the Los Santos Sheriff's Department and Los Santos Police Department were able to work together as sister agencies to arrange for a special tactic to catch these criminals mid-bank robbery. The operation was a success with zero loss of life, and no shots being fired from either side.
The Sheriff's Department takes bank robberies seriously with the appropriate response required in these delicate situations. We are truly thankful for the work of these agencies in keeping our county and our money safe and secure. We'd also like to thank the Department of Corrections for being able to arrange and lead a successful transport of nine suspects in such a short amount of time. Without their work, our deputies would have been unable to return to their general patrol in a timely manner to ensure the county is safe and secure.
