Los Santos: Due to an increase in violent street robberies in the City of Los Santos, the Major Crimes Division has become aware of an ongoing criminal trend of follow-home robberies. Suspects have been locating their victims in Los Santos, following them to their place of residence or their business, and committing a robbery on that individual.

Victims have been followed home from such places as the Del Perro Pier, Rockford Plaza, and Tequil'la. The target of these robberies has been expensive items such as Car Speakers and Laptops but also smaller items such as expensive jewelry and designer purses. Victims have also been singled out based on the vehicles they are driving, with drivers who are driving high-end vehicles being especially targeted.

These crimes have occurred throughout the various neighborhoods in Los Santos and different suspects have been identified and arrested for these types of crimes.

The following are recommendations for community members, to try and keep them safe and crime-free;
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and look out for anything unusual before exiting your vehicle or residence/business. This also goes for when leaving restaurants and stores as well.
  • Be cautious of displaying high-value items in public such as purses, jewelry, and electronics.
  • Report and if possible, record suspicious activity for the police. Any details you can give us would be helpful.
  • If you are driving and believe you are being followed, dial 911. If possible, drive to your local police station.
  • In the event you are approached by a criminal and they try to rob you, do not resist. Cooperate and comply with their demands, but remember as much as you can about them.
  • When the robbery is concluded and it is safe to do so, call the Police Department by dialing 911.
  • Do not attempt to apprehend the suspect yourself. Leave the job of catching suspects to the police.
